It should be uncomfortable to live off food stamps, purposefully. You should walk into a store and be unable to buy 90% of it. You should have access to the healthy basics and actively desperate to get off EBT because of how restricted it is. That’s not what’s happening.

Taxpayers deserve credit for lifting their fellow Americans out of poverty. But it’s the Census Bureau that defines poverty, and its definition excludes benefits like Medicaid and food stamps. If you include all government benefits, the poverty rate is 1%, not the 11% the Census Bureau says. The Department of Commerce should fix this! And I have a bill to do it if they won’t.

You’re getting screwed on groceries and healthcare so welfare recipients and millions of illegals can get subsidized. You’re not on food stamps or Medicaid and you’re paying more because of them. Government pumps demand into food and care without adding supply so prices rise for everyone who actually pays. SNAP alone dumps over $100 billion a year into grocery demand and that money hits the same shelves you shop from. Same thing with health insurance. Medicaid pays hospitals below cost and the shortfall gets passed straight to privately insured patients like you. COVID printed trillions and expanded the welfare state and then the Biden administration opened the border and brought in record numbers of illegals who go right onto the programs. And their subsidy is a line item in your budget. This is a transfer from the people who work to the people who don’t, citizens and non alike. And in the end they call it “compassion”, but they obviously have none towards you.

Being on benefits should be hard and embarrassing… you should think I can’t wait to get off of Welfare !! (Not those with SEVERE Disabilities) Do you agree people who have never paid income tax should not be given cash if they are unemployed for over 6 months and should be given a basics living card buying only absolute essentials ?? What ideas would you come up with to get people off of benefits or cut welfare spend ?? We have to think of creative and firm ways to not only reduce the welfare bill which is set to be £400 billion, but also stop this level of dependency “the government will wipe your arse” society !!!
