This is (in my testing) the first model that can reliably do the visual loop of Generate Code ⇛ Render ⇛ Look at it ⇛ Improve. Step 3 (Visual critique) has been a real problem for so long. Models will be myopic or defensive when reviewing designs - it's been hard to tell if this has been a training or a vision problem. Opus 4.5 seems to have fixed it - it's not amazing, but it finally *can* do it. Claude models have historically (once again, in my testing) lagged behind in terms of visual understanding. Gemini for the last year has been the best - but there might be a new leader.

I have a hard time believing that Mamdani has magically figured out how to sell groceries 30% cheaper than every other market in America. The average grocery store only makes about 2 cents of profit on the dollar. Even if they make NO profit, Mamdani's stores still need to cut 28% more off the cost. Sure, they won't have to pay rent or taxes, but they also can't buy in bulk (there's only 5 of them), won't sell high-margin products like hot food or beer, and will probably pay their workers well above the market rate. You can't cut 30% off the price of groceries with that strategy and expect to be profitable. That's just simple math. New Yorkers won't be getting cheaper food. They will just be buying groceries with your tax dollars and calling it a store.

A little bit more on my Novel editor. One of the things I loath about word processors is that they are so unaware of how prose is structured. They treat the line as the most atomic unit of text. But writers think in words, sentences, and paragraphs. Never lines. The editor I am working on has navigation tools for word, sentence, paragraph, and scene. You can navigate and move content at each level. All from the keyboard with some intuitive hotkeys. A pointing device like trackpad or mouse engages the part of your brain that processes spatial input. That's not where you want to be when writing. It can take you out of your flow state. And it is physically quite slow because your hands must move away from the keyboard. So I'm rethinking editing with the keyboard. It's not hard to learn, and it makes editing faster. I haven't been using it long and already I'm barely reaching for the trackpad. Follow me to be the first to try this out. #WritingCommunity

It’s better like that. Sometimes, it’s not necessary to walk through fire and thorns 🐻‍❄️ I was shocked too, because I already liked it and really wanted to act in this series. When it got cancelled, I was like, “Again! Only happen to me" 🐻‍❄️ We actors didn’t go deep into what problems there may have been before this. We just felt the script was interesting and the director team was great. We didn’t know the details. Such a shame 🐻‍❄️ I hope it will still be the same set of six actors, because we want to work together. We’re waiting to see whether it will be the same set or if we’ll be split up.
