After experiencing exposure to environmental conditions during my first semester that impacted my health and required a medical withdrawal this semester, I’ve made the decision to enter the transfer portal on May 1st. Nov. 30, 2023 is a day I will never forget — it’s the day I tore my ACL. It was the day before I was supposed to play in the ECNL Tennessee National Selection Game. This is my first post since that day (my injury happened hours before I was going to post the first picture). For some people, they find strength in encouragement from others. For me, my road to recovery has been deeply personal and spiritual. I turned inward and upward — relying on my own personal drive, the love of my mom, dad and family and most importantly, my faith in God and his perfect love and support. Since Dec. 4, 2023, I have spent every day (except for Sundays) in either prehab, surgery or rehab. Six days a week without fail. It’s a grueling process. There are no shortcuts. There is no other way but through it. And I’m so grateful to Jaedyn Shaw for introducing me to the most incredible PT who, next to my God and family, has been by my side every day — Brandon Browning. Last Monday, at 23 weeks following my surgery, I passed my strength test that let me start the return to play process. I want to thank God for his miracles and his goodness, my parents for their unending love and support, Brandon Browning for continuing to push me every single day, and Coach Rockwood and all the coaches at BYU Women’s Soccer. I would not be here today without them. On July 1, I report to BYU and I have Aug. 15 circled on my calendar — it’s our first non-conference, regular season game against Wisconsin Badgers. Between now and then, I’m doing everything I can to be ready for that day. And while my journey on this path is not yet over, I’m ready to talk about it. Whether you’re the type who thrives off encouragement from others or, like me, more private and personal, I’m in your corner. If my experience or my story can help you in any way or if you just need someone who will listen and can relate, please reach out. It’s been a rough few years. But this year I got hyper focused back in the gym and finally feel like my silly little self again. All ready to take on the next adventure. After many months of back and forth I’m set on getting my first motorcycle. (To learn on) I’m always hyper fixated on some skill and I choose you, Pikachu! (Well, maybe you chose me) Thankfully, it’s more practical once ya get past the learning curve. 😹 (unlike the puppet and ventriloquism era, but that’s fun to bust out at parties) I can start to actually share my misadventures with you guys again too. As someone just learning and already prone to chaos, there will be a few. I know I’ve been distant the last year. I’m sorry Its been tough, But we are back. More than 800 people are in the field and hundreds more are behind the scenes working to restore service to our customers. Our focus today has been on assessing damage from the storm and restoring power to critical infrastructure—like hospitals—and main electrical feeders, like in #Yarmouth as seen here today. We do our best to give an estimate of when the power will be restored. Once our crews are able to assess damage to infrastructure, those estimates will be updated. We’ve been on the road two weeks in a row where we’ve given up over 100 yards rushing in the first half, and we’ve had 6 turnovers in 2 games, and when that happens, you’re gonna get your ass kicked like we did. I want to go out there and stop the run, I want to not turn the ball over and if that does, we’ll have a football game. And if we can get it into a football game, I like our chances of winning.”
