Holy shit. Ron Johnson just called Social Security "a legal Ponzi scheme" and said that Social Security and Medicare need reforms. He said it this morning.

Whoa. Trump just attacked Israel and said that he'll "never forget" that they didn't participate in the Soleimani operation. He said Israel "let us down" and needs to "straighten it out" and called them weak, saying they should "strengthen themselves up."

Ben Meiselas on how VP Kamala Harris should approach the debate against Trump: You have to repeat back to some extent what he just said, and then try to translate it for the people so they understand that he's an idiot...I think she needs to repeat Donald Trump and she needs to say, "To all the American people watching out there: I know how important childcare is for you. That answer right there was incoherent and dangerously ignorant. These are life and death issues, and that individual right there has no clue what he is talking about. Nothing that he just said made any sense. Let me tell you what I'm going to do. Let me give you facts and let me give you details..."

Brett Meiselas on MTG: The craziest thing about this is it's not like she even said anything bad about Trump. Nor did she even suggest he was involved with Jeffrey Epstein. All she said was that the people deserve the Epstein files — and he lost his mind. That’s the definition of “a hit dog will holler.” Trump said that by calling for the release of the Epstein files, Marjorie Taylor Greene has betrayed him and the entire Republican Party. Just pause for a second. Why would Marjorie Taylor Greene calling to release the Epstein files be a betrayal to Donald Trump and the entire Republican Party? Unless they are afraid of what is in said files.

Frost on seeing the "unredacted" Epstein files: A few takeaways. Number one, there's a lot of documents that are still redacted. When I asked the DOJ about it, they said they received it that way, which means that Kash FBI kept them redacted when they gave it to the DOJ, which is interesting. A lot of names of billionaires and elites. The second thing is there's just so much to go through. I have to go back. I actually went on Reddit and asked folks what documents they think I should look at. There were millions of views, tens of thousands of responses. We're going to be going through that. I will be hitting the House floor to talk about the things that I've seen. And the reason I want to go on the House floor is because it'll be protected speech and it’ll keep me protected as well. But I got to go back at least two or three more times to put some puzzle pieces together and go out and speak to people about it. And the third thing is it was just horrible reading about a lot of the horrible things that people have gone through, that young women, that girls and children have gone through, and how billionaires have been able to escape justice.

What's cool about TWICE is that they all have their own unique vibes, but when they're together, it just works so well.

🚨🚨 Ed Elson says the government should subpoena OpenAI and Anthropic and demand the evidence behind their alarming claims: Elson: If Anthropic believes that they have created a technology that might destroy society, I'm waiting for Anthropic to come out there and say, here is the empirical evidence. As soon as an Anthropic employee comes out and says what he said, that is a corporate communication by the company. It was by an Anthropic employee. The entire organization is responsible for the words that were published and transmitted to literally millions of people all over the world. They are accountable for that. Now let's talk about the government side of this. The government is accountable to pursuing action against illegal activity. If someone is building a technology that is going to murder people or destroy society, I think we can all agree that that is a bad thing and it's illegal. You can't be doing that. That's now the government's responsibility to go out and pursue action against these companies. Now, what do you do if you want to pursue action? Well, it needs, again, we need to investigate their claims. The government should hand a subpoena to Anthropic and to OpenAI and say, “Hey, you've just said something very, very serious. We're going to take it seriously. We want you to show us the evidence and show us your claims.” And if it's true that what they've built is seriously bad, then we need to start working together on this. If it turns out that what they're saying is hyperbolic and it's not true at all and it's just some guy who went online and wanted to get clicks and drum up some hysteria and some drama, then we're talking about a different problem. Now we're talking about things like securities fraud. Now we're talking about things like public deception.

From Miles Taylor's new book— “Aides said he [Trump] talked about Ivanka Trump's breasts, her backside, & what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly to remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter.” #CreepyTrump

Angus: Howard Lutnick—as a human being, you suck. Tell us about that photo of Epstein Island. Because I’ve been reading about your claims about knowing Epstein, and it just doesn’t make sense. So in 2005, you find out Epstein is your next door neighbor. So fair enough, you and your wife go over to visit your neighbor. Perfectly normal, I’d say, I guess for people who live next door to millionaires like Epstein. And you said that when you got the tour, you were incredibly creeped out because he was making these creepy sexual innuendos. And you said, “In the six to eight steps it takes to get from his house to my house, my wife and I decided I would never be in the room with that disgusting person ever again.” Well, that’s what any decent human being would say, right? And then Epstein got convicted of sex with an underage person at a time of a major FBI investigation into sex with underage girls. And then there were multiple rumors that Epstein was involved in all manner of sex trafficking with youth. Your next door neighbor—and you didn’t know any of that. And you said you were never going to be with that disgusting person ever again. And then the Epstein files dropped, and we saw your picture at Epstein Island. So then you had to admit, oh right, yeah, in 2012 you called him up and went to hang out with him on the island. And you said, “My wife was with me, as were my four children and nannies, and I had another couple that were there as well with their children.” Did you tell that couple about how disgusting Epstein was? Why would you bring your children to be in the presence of a man that you thought was so disgusting you would never be in the same room with him again? And yet you showed up at his island and brought your kids? Yeah, as a human being, Howard, you suck.

Here’s how that worked out when the Mike Johnsons of the past said the same about the tobacco industry. This isn’t even ancient history. It’s 1994!

JUST IN: Gov. Gavin Newsom calls for an end to congressional stock trading, saying members of Congress should be held to a “higher standard”: “Well, I can't believe anyone in Congress is allowed to trade stocks. I mean, that should have been addressed years and years ago. That's not me saying that as a partisan cheap shot; it's pretty self-evident. So, that just has to fundamentally be addressed. I can't talk to the merits of any of the specific transactions of any of the specific members of Congress. But this all has to be cleaned up, and it just goes to lack of trust in institutions and individuals in government. We should all be held to a higher standard.”
