WebMCP in the desktop browser sounds handy for sites you visit often, and the update could unlock smoother tasks.

Please add support for the new Prompt API so apps can call ChatGPT directly. This would make the AI bi-directional (chat > app via tools, app > chat via the Prompt API) and enable new experiences. At minimum, let apps insert text into the prompt box.

Are there plans to bring WebMCP support to ChatGPT Work’s cloud browser on the web, iOS, and Android?

WebMCP detection does not work on all websites with Codex desktop app. You can test your own demos: - Codex Modeling Studio works - Verdant Market does not Chrome extension detects them both

WebMCP is one of those boring-sounding features that could quietly change everything. The web becomes less “pages you visit” and more “tools agents can actually use”.

We tested this across two live storefronts: typed, contextual tools let the agent search, add to cart and verify the fresh total. Same engine, different vertical. Checkout remains deliberately human.

Structured site tools should make agents much more reliable. Curious how WebMCP handles schema changes without breaking existing workflows.
