We're making big progress at Old Oak Common. The first six high-speed platforms, built underground in the station box, are now complete. 🚄 Our construction partner Balfour Beatty Vinci SYSTRA has spent the past year building these platforms, starting with 1.59m-high walls before lifting nearly 2,000 pre-cast concrete slabs...

Stories of High-Quality Development | Old home renovation: How to put an end to the 'mystery box' problem Nowadays, people have higher expectations for their living spaces, but when it comes to home renovation, many still find it a headache. Are the quotes inflated? Will there be hidden add-on costs? How will the final result turn out? Homeowners are full of concerns. How can renovation shed its "mystery box" problem and become more transparent and professional? The answer lies in clear standards and the smart use of technology. In recent years, I have seen changes in the industry. On the one hand, cost has become transparent. Digital quoting systems break down each step of the process in detail, with brand models, construction techniques and individual costs listed item by item, making the expense breakdown as clear as a supermarket receipt. Third-party fund supervision mechanisms hold payments in stages based on the project's progress. Funds are only paid to the contractor after the homeowner inspects and approves each phase, making the entire process more open. On the other hand, the construction process has become transparent. Monitoring platforms allow homeowners to oversee the work online in real time, with live footage of the construction site always accessible. Smart detection instruments use quantitative standards instead of visual checks, making it easier to spot errors. At the same time, a dedicated project coordinator follows every stage, from design and construction to inspection, keeping a close eye on all details. Many say renovation is like a tough battle, demanding both time and effort. But now, standardized processes keep the process in check, and technology has opened up the mystery box. Renovation is becoming simpler, more transparent and less stressful. (Narrator: Xin Guiwu, Home Renovation Designer)

Last week, I had a conversation with American film director, Leslie Small, who wanted to celebrate the big strides of Afrobeats. After 30 minutes of understanding the true state of things, he sobered up. Nigerians don't own Afrobeats. The West does. Every inch of the culture has an American or European company speaking for it. And now, via the platforms, they're expanding and redefining what Afrobeats is. Netflix and Amazon Prime leaving Nigeria should give the Nigerian music industry a warning shot towards fixing itself at home. Yes, foreign capital is good. But it isn't patient, and will leave if no profit is made. And when it does, what have we built locally to ensure we can still run an industry? How would we achieve sustainability? The entire promise of 'Afrobeats to the world' is that the culture collectively draws investment from Sony, Warner, UMG and others, on the premise that it has export value: the music continues to have mass foreign attention. We're drawing loans using the singular, transient, collateral of "foreigners love our culture." We're still unable to generate competitive numbers at home. Piracy and free music is at an all time high, and we still haven't addressed local ownership. Already the cracks are showing. We aren't minting new stars. Afrobeats did not contribute a hit to the global pop framework this year. We've been shut-out from the Hot 100, and now foreigners with no connection to Nigeria and more access to resources are making 'Afrobeats.' Without local development, we're stuck in a game of musical chairs, hoping that the music continues to play. But for how long?

HUGE ‼️ The Donald Trump Admin is taking the money they saved from Gavin Newsom’s failed high speed rail money laundering project and now using it to build America a High Speed Rail Project “The California project was never going to be built” “So it's fitting for us to be here today to announce the next steps in the Trump administration's agenda to usher in the golden age of rail in America. So today, I'm announcing a $5 billion dollar investment into America's rail system. $2 billion of these dollars actually are coming from an investment that the last administration made in high-speed rail in California” “I want us to invest in high-speed rail. Europe has it, Asia has it, America should have it. But the California project was never gonna be built” “The original projection was that this project was gonna cost $34 billion dollars. Well, the current projections are that it's gonna cost over $240 billion dollars. $200 billion dollars over budget. Over a decade, not one rail track has been laid” “So we pulled that money back, and now we're able to redeploy it into great projects that will drive safety, innovation, and a better experience for the American people. But again, California and its rail was never gonna be built. So let's build projects that we can actually deliver for by way of the American people” Remember, California Rep Carl DeMaio shows Democrats are going to fund their high speed rail with another $1 billion PER YEAR through 2045 even though no tracks are being laid. He said it’s because Democrats are giving these grants to their political donors as ‘no big contracts’ It’s a giant money laundering operation and nobody ever goes to jail

great to see more people generating 3d avatars with our new text-to-3d feature in forge. this marks a step in the right direction in putting powerful creation tools directly in the hands of everyone. we built forge entirely from the ground up over the past months as one of the key releases on our roadmap. having full proprietary ownership of the technology gives us complete control to shape its direction without depending on external platforms or third-party licenses. building on this foundation, our upcoming studio feature will let users generate high-quality accessories, clothing, and environments simply by typing natural language prompts. a single description can produce fully textured, production-ready 3d assets in seconds, with options to create multiple variations and refine them through follow-up instructions.every asset created in studio integrates seamlessly with the 3d ai agents made in forge on users can instantly apply clothing and accessories with automatic fitting, layer multiple items, and place their agents inside custom-generated environments. all clothing and accessories come pre-rigged and optimized, while environments include proper lighting and geometry for immediate use in games, animation, virtual worlds, and more. we have spent months thoughtfully designing how can deliver real, sustainable value back to the community. we will continue to share more details on token utility use cases and the economic flywheel we have built. the goal is to create a self-reinforcing system where creators earn through royalties, autonomous agents drive on-chain activity, and platform growth directly benefits active community members and token holders. together, these features enable a complete creative flow. from a simple idea, anyone can quickly build fully realized 3d ai agents standing in rich, custom scenes. we are excited to see what the community builds next.

📰🚨PARLER IS BACK: New Ownership. New Investment. Complete Rebuild. Washington DC — Just hours ago, Parler stormed back onto the national stage with a press conference that drew hundreds downtown. With new ownership, a major new investor, and a rebuilt infrastructure, Parler is making it clear: free speech is going back on offense. Erik Finman, who invested in Bitcoin when it was just $10, took the stage today to announce he has joined as a senior strategic advisor and investor, bringing new firepower to the fight to keep online platforms free. At the center of today’s announcement is OPTIO — OpenParlerTechstack, Independent & Open source — a foundation built so platforms can survive total political assault. First built for Parler, OPTIO is designed so that your platform, your content, and your speech can’t be pulled offline—even if every tech company, bank, and government wants it gone. When Elon Musk warned he could have been jailed and stripped of X if the 2024 election had swung differently, it wasn’t paranoia. It was a preview. The risk never left. It’s only been delayed — with Democrats eyeing the 2026 midterms and setting the stage for a possible 2028 administration fully aligned against free platforms. Financial raids, tech stack blacklisting, state-sponsored censorship — this will be the opening salvo of their own 'Project 2029 plan'. If Democrats take full power again in 2028, their next move will be clear: take down X, Truth Social, and Parler, or any other free speech platform. We're building OPTIO as the invincible shield to stand in their way. That's why we built OPTIO. Parler took the beatings and the lickings first. We lived through it. We know exactly where the weak points in the Tech Stack still are. And we know how to build a system that can’t be taken down. OPTIO is built for platforms like X, Truth Social, or any new platform that wants to survive. It gives them the power to put their content somewhere it can't be restricted, pulled offline, or erased—no matter who’s in power. “I got into Bitcoin early because nobody could shut it down—OPTIO does the same for speech.” said Finman.

𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲 A walk under one of the many, expensive, unused, eyesore monuments to the failures of California’s Democratic Party. These giant structures dotting the Central Valley are adjacent to impoverished communities and will not be placed into service for at least ten years, if ever. Delayed by construction traffic controls, local residents have a front row seat as they watch California’s misguided, High Speed Rail (HSR) project kick up dust and spend $ billions 💰 and $ billions 💰 of taxpayer dollars on unused overpasses that cross above roads, canals, rivers, and railways as Central Valley farming communities are divided by the fenced off HSR route. This particular structure crosses the in-service Amtrak line just south of Wasco. The existing line has been carrying passengers between Bakersfield and Northern California since 1899 when originally placed into service by Sante Fe Railroad. Today, Amtrak connects Bakersfield to Sacramento on this line. It’s a three hour Amtrak ride from Bakersfield to Merced including stops in Wasco and Hanford. HSR will not stop in Wasco. However, Wasco Amtrak passengers now have to walk through an underground walkway below the new, unused HSR structure in Wasco to get from the parking lot to the shiny, new replacement Amtrak platform. The Wasco Amtrak platform was working fine but was newly constructed as a part of the HSR project. Since the Amtrak line and the HSR are nearly parallel at this location, the overpass shown in the video had to be enormous. How many $ billions 💰 of taxpayer dollars will be spent to transport people between Bakersfield and Merced a little bit faster than Amtrak’s current three hour service? There’s no justification for spending so much money for so little benefit, that might occur ten years from now, or more.

[WATCH] City of Tshwane Targets Foreign National George Asaba's Unsafe Sunnyside Building for Court-Ordered Demolition and Disconnecting Services After Altered Meters, and Unsafe Additional Floor were Found at the Building Another Building Owned by Asaba was Demolished in Pretoria West Earlier this year The City of Tshwane has moved to disconnect services at a building in Sunnyside after discovering serious safety and illegal utility issues. The structure, owned by foreign national George Asaba, has been flagged for questionable construction, including an additional floor that appears unsafe, prompting urgent action from municipal authorities. Dr Nasiphi Moya, Tshwane’s mayor, confirmed that Asaba previously had a building demolished in Pretoria West in August due to dangerous conditions. Municipal teams discovered that the Sunnyside building had altered meters since 2020, replacing city-owned units with private ones, which allowed residents to avoid paying for utilities for several years. During an on-site inspection, Moya revealed that the lifts in the building are non-functional and tenants pay rent and utilities directly to Asaba’s account. The city has now disconnected services and is urging Asaba to report to municipal offices to address the violations and the illegal connections affecting the building. Tshwane building control teams have been deployed to investigate the structure’s compliance with safety regulations. Officials plan to issue formal notices to the owner, with the possibility of applying for a court order to demolish the building if it is confirmed to pose a danger to residents. Municipal authorities emphasized that they are monitoring multiple accounts with illegal connections across the city. Disconnection of services is part of an ongoing effort to protect residents and enforce compliance with safety and utility regulations in high-risk buildings. Residents have been warned to stay vigilant about unsafe buildings and illegal utility connections. Tshwane’s administration continues to prioritize public safety while enforcing the law, signaling that repeat offenders like Asaba will face strict consequences if violations persist.

🇪🇺 Today, we hold another Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels, once again dominated by the management of several crises at once. Let me start with the one we still talk about too little: the climate. Extreme weather has become our reality, and the wildfires now raging through Spain and southern France have already cost lives, Belgians most probably among them. Before anything else, my thoughts are with their families and with all those who are grieving. On Ukraine, our message remains firm: the pressure on Russia has to stay high. These sanctions are having a real impact, which is why I regret that we could not yet gather the conditions to adopt a 21st package. Keeping up the pressure also means reminding Russia of its obligations under international law, starting with the dignity of prisoners of war, which is at the heart of our discussion this morning. On the Middle East, staying in close and regular contact with our Gulf partners matters more than ever, and we had an important exchange with them. On Gaza, the humanitarian tragedy continues, and Belgium has been asking for months for concrete options Europe can act on. The Commission has now taken a first step, but it remains well short of what is needed for Europe to be a credible player on this conflict again. We want real proposals that member states can vote on, and soon. Finally, at Belgium's initiative, together with Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands, we bring Sudan back into focus. It is one of the gravest humanitarian crises in the world today, and it draws far too little attention. Belgium's ties with Africa run deep, and we will keep giving this conflict the attention it deserves. 🇧🇪 Belgium MFA Belgium in the EU

The NYSE just celebrated its 234th birthday. In 1792, 24 brokers gathered under a buttonwood tree at 68 Wall Street and signed an agreement that would become the New York Stock Exchange. More than two centuries later, the institution is once again ushering in change, this time for a digital era. Under President Lynn Martin, the NYSE has embraced the technological shift and a new generation of market watchers, while building out a media platform of its own. It is designed to be shared with partners, from established outlets to independent creators. "We are both a partner to all publishers and we are, in equal parts, a publisher," Joe Benarroch told a crowd of industry players and creators at a recent NYSE event. I've seen this up close. Ticker Take became a NYSE 🏛 partner in late 2025, enabling Caroline Lesley and I to share stories from the floor with our audience. Around the same time, the NYSE also teamed up with TBPN, which was recently acquired by OpenAI. The openness is working. NYSE content now reaches roughly 50 million monthly viewers across partner platforms, more than double a year ago. Daily live programming is up more than 200% year-over-year. Its flagship podcast, Inside the ICE House, has passed a million downloads. At 234, the institution that built the modern stock market is not just keeping up with how the next generation engages with capital. It is leading the way. Full story here:
