Updated Fly By of the Tropicana Site Along With A Visit From DHS Got stopped by Department of Homeland Security this morning after flying! There were two officers in all-black uniforms and vests that pulled in front of my vehicle just as I was finishing up and putting all the safety equipment away. They asked if I had just flown a drone and I let them know I did. From there, they met up with me at my car and asked to see my Part 107 Certificate and FAA authorization to fly in zero grid airspace. I always carry a white binder with everything I need and I have never had to show anyone anything until today, but I was ready. After a few minutes of going over my information and documents, they were finished. They also let me know that no one has ever had all of their documents together like I had. If you are going to fly a drone on the Las Vegas strip, you definitely want to have everything in order to do so. So with all that, here is some video of the Tropicana site...

Life update 👀 Today is my last day Webflow. I'm beyond proud of the work I did during my 3 years here, everything from designing & building Webflow University, helping create designs & visuals for our course lessons, making tons of illustrations for our keynotes, contributing to the new logo + rebrand & new designer UI last year, early explorations of AI in the product, and so much more. I truly leveled up my design/dev/illustration skills over the past few years, a big part in thanks to Sara Lundberg & McGuire Brannon constantly pushing me & my work, as well as getting to work along side of some of the most talented people I've ever met. I'm definitely going to miss my coworkers, but I'm also excited to explore some new projects I've been wanting to start. What if Jeffrey Epstein wasn't the final boss here? Pay attention to his girlfriend's post. According to her Epstein was only playing along with a greater evil. For the past 6 years I lived in Vienna and thought all Germanic cities are like this: dead after 22, anti-capitalist and having a retired people house vibe Now visited Düsseldorf and it felt more like Spain than Germany The center is full of people going out on Wednesday night In the beer houses people are dancing standing on the benches and singing The music is playing super loudly outside, nobody is complaining Everybody is super friendly and talkative I couldn’t find a bar that accepts cards (it’s still Germany), approached a group of guys and asked some cash I could send back via Revolut - we ended up drinking together and had a nice chat Germany is nothing like what you read on X So travel more - you never know what places feel like in real life until you see them!

thanks guys for trying the demo! this feels different from the initial demo that we pushed last year in the steam RTS fest. Back then, 95% of feedback was about "lack of tutorial". It made me sad because I didn't really enjoy the game back then and I felt that making a tutorial was pointless. this time, we still don't have a tutorial, only few minor objectives, and still got 10x more feedback. And real feedback from players that played a lot, some of them replayed the same mission many times. for the first time in almost 3 years, I feel confident about encouraging people to try Powerplay. And it will only get bigger and better from here, because I decided to finally end my solo developer era and finally get a partner to help me ship this motherfucker! If you have been following the development you should know who I am talking about 😉 I will announce it soon!

Students say while the matter is still in court, Telangana congress govt decided to destroy everything before the courts open tomorrow. Detained students were released late last night after BRS Party leaders went to the police station and warned that they won’t leave until the students were let off Much more sad part - Media is acting unmoved by the whole incident. ⚔️ Kingdom Come Deliverance first impressions ⚔️ Loving it so far, basically a medieval detective simulator that really doesn't care that you are the main character. And I'm all here for it. ▪️The WORLD is the real star of the show here and even though it's got plenty of jank and lots of copy and paste NPC faces, it just feels so IMMERSIVE. Even the UI just transports me to the times with a bright colourful medieval art style. ▪️The MUSIC I love, absolutely sells the world and basically ASMR as you trot around on your horse through the world. ▪️THE Combat is a real interesting one, it's got quite the learning curve which I actually LIKE, it definitely has some jank to it as well but I really appreciate the attempt at an original and nuanced combat system. (Having to stop your bleeding with bandages is really cool) ▪️The Story has gripped me (19 hours in so far) And while it seems a simple revenge story on the face of it, I think the story is more about Henry making his way through the world after the horrors of Skallitz. The writing quality is top notch as well as the quest design also. ▪️The CHARACTERS are amazing and the humour is top notch. I'm not sure the last time I laughed so much at a game. Henry is great and so well voiced by Tom McKay This really feels like Warhorse Studios have put a lot of love and work into making an authentic medieval world and as a bit of a medieval nerd I can't get enough of this game. A True RPG as well by all accounts, the game really makes me think hard about how to approach situations. Also I can't wait to get to KCD2.

Let me get this straight, because it broke my American brain. In the UK there is a thing called the telly tax. You do not pay it because you watch the BBC. You pay it because you own a television at all. The physical box in your living room. So the government charges you for the privilege of owning a screen, then uses the money to fund the channel you were trying to avoid. It is a cover charge for a party you never wanted to attend. $See that red tape line on the floor? You better not cross it before they tell you “GO!” or you’ll not only get yelled at, you’ll make about 100 people instantly dislike you. My first experience at the Goodwill bins… this operation is so much crazier than I was expecting. This sweet woman spotted me sticking out like a sore thumb. “You a first timer?” She proceeded to give me the rundown: “The college kid resellers are aggressive. See those bins along that wall? Be careful if you go there. They’ll snatch things right out of your hands.” “Every 30-45 minutes they swap out the bins. You have to stay behind the tape line.” “Don’t bring your cart on the floor. Go to the register and get a piece of paper to tape your name on the cart and leave it along the wall.” I have never seen anything like it. And of course, I snuck by the warehouse doors to peek inside what’s happening behind the scenes. Massive pallet racking FULL of clothes bales. I’m talking hundreds of thousands of pieces. Conveyer belt sorting systems with everything you can imagine. Pallets of bicycles. Filthy vacuums. And rolling bins. A bazillion rolling bins full of who knows what, but apparently some treasure. Before you get triggered by “people making money off donations that are ‘supposed’ to support people who are impoverished,” I invite you to go see an operation like this. The amount of excess materialism is astounding, and this is a microscopic fraction of it. Resellers duking it out over labels and prized goods all day everyday at places like this are playing an extremely important role in a circular economy that is making a difference in the appalling about of waste we have created as a society. You won’t find me doing this to source inventory, but of course I snagged a small stack of books because who would I be if I didn’t 😜 And I have a lot of respect for the number of young adults I saw hustling their way through this chaos, leaving with garbage bags full of items that are putting food on their tables.
