#Hyderabad: Why are students of Hyderabad Central University protesting against the Telangana Govt? The Govt announced to auction 400 acres of land. Govt claims, the land is no forest nor home to any animals and belongs to the Govt . And Minister for IT Sridhar Babu Duddilla assured in the assembly that no land of the HCU will be touched. Students are fighting against alleged land encroachment in this process. The protesting student say( Verbatim) - "The reality is that the state government is misleading students to think that there is a distinction between University land and government land. It is well aware that the entire University is situated in the land of the state government. It was, in fact, the Congress government under Indira Gandhi that originally allocated 2,300 acres of government land for the University. The grandstanding by the minister-now conveniently celebrated by the Congress-affiliated student organization NSUl-is nothing more than a smokescreen to obscure the government's corporate appeasement and wash their hands off the responsibility to safeguard the university land’.

At HCU, the same cops who lathi-charged, dragged, and filed cases against students protesting to protect trees and wildlife later found themselves seeking shelter from the scorching sun under the very trees they were helping the government remove. Destroy nature, and it will remind you who's really in control! #SaveHCU #SaveHCUBiodiversity

WHAT COURT ORDER?!?! Despite the honourable High Court’s clear direction to stand down, and not to run the bulldozers amuck, students from #HCU have reached out to me and are sharing videos. The bulldozers are still busy on the East side of the campus! Some shared the videos with the time stamp. Please listen and decide. Why can’t the Telangana government respect the court and give the bulldozers rest for ONE day? Also! The Advocate General in the court gave oral assurance that there won’t be anymore destruction. Isn’t this contempt of court??? #SaveHCU #ContemptOfCourt #SaveHyderabadBioDiversity #SaveHCUForest #NoRegardForHighCourt? #RevanthReddy

Telangana was promised Mohabbat ki Dukaan but got Loot aur Lathi ki Sarkar. Rahul Gandhi speaks of Mohabbat, but show Lathi on students to Loot land. ABVP students are protesting against the auction of HCU lands, and I fully support them. Instead of addressing their concerns, the Congress government sent police to suppress them. Innocent students were lathi-charged, hostel rooms were raided, and many were dragged into vans. Is this the Congress model — sell public lands and silence students with lathis? Will they leave nothing for future generations? If even a Central University is not safe, what is? Strongly condemn this inhuman behavior. Release the arrested students immediately and withdraw this decision to auction the university lands.

"Our college budget is more than your country's budget. " this is one of the worse statement from KIIT institution teachers. Where is the education gone ? This is not about India/Nepal or any other country, this shows how low education system we have , sad. You can’t give such statements to any country when it comes to education. 17th February, 2025: Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal, a third year student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), was found dead on Sunday evening in the hostel campus of the university. The incident has sparked widespread protests near the KIIT campus. Students, including many from Nepal gathered on sunday night demand a transparent investigation. In response, two platoons of police forces were deployed to maintain order. Amid rising tensions, KIIT University issued a notice and forced over 500 Nepali students to leave the university. Nepali students were seeking an investigation since Prakriti complained about the harassement and torture in the university. Despite her constant appeal, University didnot take any action which led to the incident. #JusticeForPrakriti

WASINMI, OGUN: After speaking with students of OwuTech, Naija Confra reports that the incident began with a large-scale robbery in the student area. During the robbery, a cultist was seriously injur€d. Students protested, but were ignored and later pushed back, escalating the situation. (More videos on Telgrm). The robbery took place around 3 a.m., with several hostels targeted, leaving many students injur€d. A Buccaneer member was critically injur€d and is currently receiving treatment. Students reported the robbery to the school authorities and the king’s palace, but they were ignored, and instead, the police were sent to disperse the protestors. Student sources told NC that cultists joined the protest, leading to gunfire exchanges with the police (shots fired in the air). Buccaneers are investigating whether the robbers were cultists and have also joined the protest. Some sources warn that if the issue isn’t addressed, it could lead to a clash between students and indigenes, as many students believe the indigenes were involved in the robbery. While there are reports of the incident spreading to other schools like ICT, Naija Confra cannot confirm this yet. Stay safe.

This is Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko. Students came out to peacefully protest, and the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, responded with gunshots against students. Yesterday, the governor met with Army chiefs. Today, soldiers arrived on our campus and opened fire on unarmed students. Let that sink in. This is a university that has seen its fair share of student protests over the years. With fee hikes, strikes, and insecurity in the host community, we have marched for all of it. And in all those years, even during the most chaotic of them, including 2009, when angry students burnt down a police station in Akungba, live bullets were never the answer. Soldiers, when they showed up, moved barricades and drove past. That was the unspoken rule. You do not turn guns on students. That rule was broken today. What changed? A governor who sat with army chiefs less than twenty four hours before soldiers showed up shooting at the same students he is meant to serve and protect. Students who have blocked roads before without a single bullet fired now have live rounds aimed at them, on the governor's order. Watch the video. This is not a rumor. This is not exaggeration. This is a Nigerian soldier firing on Nigerian students on the grounds of Adekunle Ajasin University, for daring to protest. #AAUA #AkungbaAkoko #EndStudentBrutality #OndoState ShopRite | Odumeje | Abati | Uber | Erigga

She came. She shook the stage. She walked off. Her name is Sara Ismail.👌🏾 At the convocation ceremony of Haridev Joshi University of Journalism & Mass Communication, on a stage shared with Rajasthan Deputy CM Prem Chand Bairwa. Why she said this? Read her remark - “Students from the last two batches arrived in Jaipur to get their degrees from the Governor. We were asked to wear sarees with a red border; male students were wearing kurta pyjamas and black sandals. Students from all over the state, along with their parents, arrived at the venue. After the speeches of the Governor and the dignitaries, which went on for around two hours, only gold medallists were given degrees on stage and the rest of us were asked to collect ours later. This is why we got angry and asked the administration to reconsider, and when they refused, we chanted slogans against them. Later, they gave us our degrees, but the anger was so high that I said that line. So much of our time was wasted." More power to you Sara. 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾

OAU transport system was near perfect, adequate buses and bikes, we rarely experienced queues until the First Lady came and decided she didn’t like the ease of transportation and introduced “change” by donating CNG buses. The school management in turn banned all motorcycles and commercial buses on campus and subjected over 30,000 students to just about 50 buses and a few tricycles. OAU has one of the largest land masses of any Nigerian university, yet students are now stranded daily. This is a Monday morning where students are supposed to rush for class, but they are stuck at the campus gate because of the inefficiency of the CNG buses. Students are struggling to go to class in the morning and in the evenings to even get back to their hostels. Students staying off campus now spend almost double to get to campus, all alternative transport means have been removed The management have cars to bypass all of this, but majority of students do not. Yet they released statements talking about how the buses will “ease transportation” and even implied students appreciate the system. Meanwhile, students are trekking, missing classes, and spending hours in queues. Let it be clear that students do not appreciate this system. It has made our lives harder, not better. What used to be a smooth system has now become a daily struggle. There are many pressing issues in this school, but they chose to dismantle a working transport system and replace it with hardship. We can no longer remain silent. Let the whole world know what OAU students are going through. Please if you come across this tweet, help us retweet it whether you are an OAU student or not We demand our towngboro buses and motorcycles back.

The raid, which occurred around midnight on September 4th, 2024, lasted over four to five hours. During the operation, multiple students sustained physical injuries as they were forcibly arrested in their lodges. The suspected operatives, allegedly acting outside the law, forcefully broke into the main gate and the doors of various rooms and lodges in the Gidankwano off-campus area of FUT Minna.
