We’re testing a dynamic camera for our game — it zooms in as enemies get closer. What do you think of this camera effect? Demo releases Oct 1. We welcome you to give it a try. #indiegame #インディーゲーム #gamedev #indiegamedev #MechGame #Steam #Dogfight #AirCombat

the zoom in as enemies close the gap sells the danger way better than a shrinking health bar would. only thing I'd watch is peripheral vision so a second enemy can't sneak up while you're tight on the first. clip already feels fast and dangerous though

We might implement a feature to toggle the camera effect; I’d like to ask—if you were playing, would you turn it on?

The flexible zoom-in function works fine in one-on-one combat, but it becomes problematic in one-on-many battles because it makes it difficult to see the overall picture. The Sega Saturn game "Assault Suit Raynos 2" might be helpful for ideas.

I’ve played both the first and second installments of the game you mentioned; in fact, the space combat in the current game draws some of its inspiration from them.

I just can't shake the feeling this is somewhat inspired by the mod Arma Armatura from Starsector. It feels like a what if the actual mechas there moved like mechs and I am all in for it

If positioning is important then automatic zooming will feel unfair

Very tasteful, make it easier to appreciate your skillful sprite-work, I gotta play this sometime

You are welcome to come and experience the demo on October 1st.

I'd say it needs an even wider pan, alongside signalling where enemies are coming from, just not an alarm when they're ready to attack. Or limit their range to attack only when the player can view them.

We are still fine-tuning the camera setup; we might implement this zoom-in feature for melee combat, while switching to a ranged weapon would revert the view to the standard camera.

Cool. I tried it in the space game I started making a couple of days ago. It works great.

An indicator on the border of the screen to avoid sudden intermissions during this kind of combat would be great.

With visuals like that, the pleasure would be all mine

We are delighted that people appreciate the effect we’ve worked hard to create, and we will continue to refine it.

Reminds me of starcontrol camera

I honestly really liked it!! I hope there’s a *Gradius III* style mode too; I’d love to fly through space and face some bosses at the end that fighter-style mode is amazing! And it’s so much fun; just imagine going head-to-head with someone that would be wonderful!!!

You are welcome to come and experience the demo on October 1st.

Let me in!

You'll be able to play the demo starting October 1st—come give it a try!

What game engine is this done in ?

We built this using Unity; it was created by a team of two. This is our first indie game—we invite you to give it a try.

Is there any plans for an possible android port in a very far future? I would genuinely pay to see it

We previously developed a mobile demo that turned out quite well; we plan to launch on Steam first and explore other platforms once everything is fully ready.

You trully are a hero sir I hope everything goes well with this project and i hope to soon play this masterpiece

Love this!

Reminds me of macross meets star control and I love it.

À mettre en option au cas où, mais c'est très stylé 👍

We will include a toggle switch so you can choose whether or not to disable the effect.

looks nice.

This would be awesome multiplayer

太棒了!这样敌人在靠近我的时候,我也更难防备远处敌人的远程攻击了!而这一切的一切也不知道是为了什么,可能是想要视觉效果吧🤣

The visual effect is indeed excellent, but it is disadvantageous for long-range shooting; we are still considering how to optimize this scope design.

This Made me remember Surugi

Following and Wishlisted on Steam, now trying out the Playtest Demo. As someone who got into and fell in love with the Mecha Genre (thank you Gundam) i am looking forward to this
