Bill Cowher says assistant coaches are more important than the head coach, and explains why he coached his coaches instead of his players: “There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes. Let’s be respectful of the fact that we don’t know everything. That’s the receiver’s fault.’ How do you know?” “You weren’t in that meeting room. The game is chess. It’s not checkers.” “We look at the head coaches, but let’s look at the assistant coaches. To me, those are more important. I didn’t coach the players as a head coach. I coached the coaches.” “I wanted them to have that relationship with the player, not just me. If intervention was needed, I would intervene. But let them do their thing.” “Let the coaches call their games. Let the coaches coach the individual players. You can see it from afar and coach the coaches. That’s how you give them a chance to become a head coach.”

The voter turnout of 92.47% in West Bengal didn’t vote for just anti-incumbency. They voted for *anti-intimidation*. The citadel of fear in West Bengal has fallen. PS : I have also taken offence at the term “Khela Hobe”. Free & fair elections are “khela” for TMC, they mock it and suppress the electorate. NO MORE Khela - just a celebration of democracy.

Had the chance to speak with Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla and watch him train with the great Eric Nicksick. Really fascinating to hear how much MMA has influenced the way he coaches. He’s clearly put in the work himself. Far more than just a fan of the sport. Hard to admit as a Knicks fan, but props where they're due.

You can’t just go create that person or system.”

Three years ago the Alabama Baseball program was in a totally different spot than they are right now, in Omaha for the College World Series. Former interim head coach, Jason Jackson, is now the associate head coach. Coach Rob Vaughn did not have a previous relationship with “JJ” yet still kept Jackson on the Alabama Baseball coaching staff. Vaughn thoroughly described Jackson’s impact: “[Jackson] trusted me in a time where that guy didn’t have to do that. He had some people calling to hire him that summer. He had just led the team through a great thing, there were some big time pitching coach jobs that were open wanting to talk to him and he chose Alabama.”
