Yesterday, I met with Shane Munroe, Chief Executive Officer of MBJ Airports Ltd., operators of the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, to receive an update on recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa. While the airport sustained damage to sections of the terminal building and perimeter fencing, the airfield and runway remain intact. Work is progressing quickly toward a phased reopening. This is welcome news for Jamaicans who need to return home, and for visitors who were displaced by the storm. The Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston has already reopened and is fully operational. Our recovery continues across the island.

The facts all show this is NOT true: - The only one who officially requested assistance from the National Guard was mayor Bowser. She was granted 340 soldiers before the event and 1100 during it. - There were no official requests or offers from Trump. The DC national guard is run by the Pentagon, and therefore, the President. Trump could have deployed them if he gave an official order, which there is NO record of. - Donald Trump’s own defense secretary, who is part of the chain of command for National Guard troop requests, testified UNDER OATH, that Trump had never signed an order to deploy National Guard troops to the Capitol. - MAGA ally, Kash Patel claimed Trump ordered the national guard. Colorado Judge Wallace found that Kash Patel is “not a credible witness”. - Chief Sund, Capitol Police Officer, says he requested assistance six times ahead of and during the attack on the Capitol. Each of those requests was denied or delayed. - US Secret Service assistant director Tony Ornato told the committee in January 2022 he overheard conversation between Mark Meadows and DC Mayor Bowers that the President had approved 10,000 National Guard troops for January 6th Rally. The problem is that this is hearsay and Trump NEVER officially called up the National guard. There would be evidence that he did. Cheney will be remembered as a courageous woman who put America over Trump.

Indian Army Undertakes Swift Rescue Operations in Jammu Sector Indian Army has launched extensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in flood-affected areas of Jammu region, deploying multiple rescue columns and helicopters to evacuate stranded civilians, students, and security personnel. *Jammu Sector Operations* As on 26 August evening, four rescue columns were deployed at different locations in Jammu: •Garhi Garh, RS Pura Sector: Seven civilians, including one child, were rescued.
