Two men were killed in a double homicide on Chicago's Far Northwest Side on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2026. A 22-year-old male was driving a red sedan when he was approached by a white sedan occupied by an unknown offender. A 25-year-old female pedestrian was walking outside when she was struck by gunfire from the incident. #SantaAnaPD #PressRelease (May 14, 2026) – Santa Ana Police Department Homicide Detectives have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man at Delhi Park in 2024. On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at approximately 7:20 a.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of an unresponsive adult male at Delhi Park. Responding officers located the victim deceased from apparent stab wounds to his body. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner later identified the victim as Eduardo Rigoberto Bustamante, 46, of Santa Ana. UPDATE: Following an extensive investigation, Santa Ana Police Homicide Detectives identified Luis Buenrostro, 34, as the suspect responsible for the homicide. On May 13, 2026, Santa Ana Police Gang Detectives located and arrested Buenrostro in the area of the 3300 block of South Bristol Street in Santa Ana. He was taken into custody without incident. The Santa Ana Police Department would like to thank the Orange County AB109 Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service, Irvine Police Department, and Anaheim Police Department for their assistance during the investigation and apprehension. Two Females Shot During Robbery in Downtown Chicago ... 600 block of W Randolph on May 16, 2026 at appx 12:40 a.m. Two female victims, 21 & 33, were standing on the sidewalk when an unknown male offender who exited a white SUV approached them. The offender demanded the victim’s property. The offender took a purse from one of the victims before firing multiple gunshots, striking both victims. NEW: Chicago police open fire on the driver of a wanted vehicle in Humboldt Park. According to police, the white Mercedes was possibly linked to a shooting that happened on Monday. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the man started driving before allegedly hitting a woman and crashing into a CTA bus multiple times. "The vehicle struck an adult female pedestrian in the street and continued to flee... [He] struck the bus multiple times with the vehicle and struck an unmarked squad car," police said, adding that a gun was recovered from the vehicle. "As officers attempted to stop the vehicle and place the driver into custody, one officer discharged their service weapon, striking the offender." The man was hit in the chest and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The family of the man claims he was getting food when he was "swarmed by officers" and says they thought police could have done more to de-escalate the situation. The woman who was hit by the Mercedes was injured. Two officers suffered minor injuries.
