Arsenal are yet to concede a goal this season, and there are some interesting details behind the way they are preparing their players defensively in matchday warm ups. Their training has placed a much greater emphasis on duels, but their approach to matchday preparation is equally interesting. The coaches are heavily involved, working closely with their specific units. Here is Gabriel Heinze, for example, on Monday night away at Aston Villa. What stands out is the lack of a fixed routine. There is no predetermined sequence where the ball travels from A to B, the player follows the pass, and the pattern simply continues. Arsenal approach it differently. The work is position specific and built around actions the players are likely to experience in the game, but the sequence itself is not planned in advance. The players do not know exactly what is coming next, which means they have to constantly process information, make decisions and react. That is exactly what the game will demand from. The purpose of this random and reaction based work is to switch the players on mentally before kick off. They cannot simply go through the motions or operate on autopilot, as can sometimes happen during closed passing patterns. Every action demands concentration, awareness and a response to the information in front of them. It is a small detail, but an interesting one. Arsenal are preparing the brain as much as the body, and so far, it is working.

My #SundayShare is a defending session borrowing from the whole-part-whole method. Play starts with 3 v 3s. The channels are used as reference points but players can go where they wish. Then move to 1 v 1s in the channels. If attackers get into the box they are 1 v GK. Coaching points (group defending): · Movement: initial press to narrow space in front of attackers. · Scanning: where is the threat? Where are my teammates? · Communication: work as a group. · Positioning: protect the central area; use the channels as reference; keep a tight line. Progression (optional): create attacking overloads. Ended the session with a normal match where teams looked to play a back three and keep a solid defensive line (coaches transformed into eagle-eyed linos). We are excited to announce that (after years of being sold out of the water front lots) we have a phase two grand opening with 40+ riverfront lots available Things have come along way, we now have now 20+ homes in the community and many more under construction We also have interior lots still left in phase 1 and the amenities are completely built out (pool, clubhouse, gym, sports courts, playground, walking trails, horseshoe pits, picnic pavilions w/ grills, and multiple fire pits, community beach) With this new phase there will now be a ~2.5 mile river float trip that can be accessed by a kayak drop-in ramp by the community dock in phase 1 and an exit ramp at the community pavilion in phase 2 We are doing a grand opening event sale on July 25th!
