The founders built a decentralized system where if you followed the process, every family had the opportunity to excel. When you get an authoritarian, you get a funnel at the top. The people inside the corruption do well and defend it, because corruption is only bad if you're not involved. If you're part of it, you'll protect it with everything you have. He acts like a fascist, we’ve pushed back, and his poll numbers have dropped. There are still enough defense mechanisms in the system to protect us from the worst of it. But we are very close to breaking the system entirely. What we need now is forward, formative, post-partisan leadership that will put things in place to rebuild and renew. Not left. Not right. Forward. That's the only direction that matters right now.
