Everyone is fighting a battle. Take it easy on each other.

If the struggle is between drinking and not, people will generally lose that battle. The decision has to be more than that. More than just a struggle for willpower. It has to a choice for a purpose, something to live for, something to be better for. Not a choice, but a reason.

Okay, here's what I know. And when I say I know, believe me, I know. If you're an alcoholic, then you can't drink. Period. There is no such thing as drinking in moderation. It doesn't exist. No matter how long you've been sober, if you have one drink, you'll have two. If you have two, you'll have three. And on and on until you're back to where you were before... or worse. For me, it was way worse. Catastrophically worse. In fact, I'm lucky to be alive. So, my advice for any alcoholic (I like to call myself "a drunk") who has gotten sober is to not drink. Don't do it. Remember, you can't. No matter how hard you try, no amount of willpower will work if you have just one drink. Just one. That's all it takes. Some of us have to learn this lesson more than once. The good news is that once you've learned, you'll never drink again. The bad news is that if you don't, you will die from drinking. Your choice. But only when you're sober. Godspeed and good luck.

Turn to God, there is nothing else in this world that would save you.

Getting over this one day will be a lot easier than the many years you got over a year ago. Stop counting days also, count new things you didnt have when you drank.

seek Jesus. Jesus made me stop drinking. Literally took the feeling away from me overnight.

You have to bite the bullet and check in to inpatient rehab. That’s what it took for me to stop drinking, I couldn’t do it on my own. I’ve been sober since September 15, 2022.

One day at a time and one slip doesn’t negate all of the progress that you’ve already made
