A third of the Nuclear arsenal was kept in Ukraine because they were the USSR, Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic a 3rd of the soviet union. The Soviet Union was not just russia. In addition, 1954, Russian SFSR placed Crimea under the control of the USSR for administrative reasons. Not a permanent transfer. That’s why when you do a quick google search & view what language is primarily spoken in Crimea…It must be Ukrainian since Evil Putin invaded Ukraine in 2014.. oh wait google says Russian. they've had assurances from the US before. I think we need to beef up these "guarantees" because as we have witnessed historically - assurance's get you invaded!
