Literally most conservatives who consume anime are aware. The ones trying to leach which are a small amount, don't know this.

A lot of older millennials, Gen X, and boomers still hate anime

I've seen way too many that like anime or are okay with it. Even got my dad into some, gets sad when they end lmao

I often find it perplexing how many conservatives disregard or scoff at anime when a prevailing theme is hard work, tenacity, courage, and dealing with failure. The antithesis of left wing ideology.

Conservatives don't think people should have hobbies, they think they should have assignments that they may enjoy.

All conservatives ever see is anime being either satanic violence or say it's "them Jap cartoons" and it's laughable how ignorant they are to take it at face value. Tune would change if they watched like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood to find out how based and deep the plot is.

I'm right-wing and I understood this from the very beginning. It's not a right-wing problem, it's a left-wing propaganda problem geared to make you hate anime before you even try it.

The people in anime are often actually nice to each other. In western shows it’s meanness by default, anyone being nice is an exception. Even friends who like each other in western shows are trying to be edgy and say tongue-in-cheek mean jokes about each other all the time

Strawman argument. Conservatives have always known & enjoyed all anime genres (since the 80's for me). So much so, we now try to "Conserve" it from leftist ideology 'localizers'. Its actually the left who dont get anime/Japanese culture, or else they wouldn't try to change it.

I've been watching anime and reading Mangas since early 90s and im conservative? Never had a problem.

100% Anime, and Manga(which I prefer) are a medium just like movies or books or paintings or videogames are. There are good and bad ones. Blanket judgment of them is at best uneducated. Artistically beside the stories original manga are often far superior to their anime.

Anime has retained the kind of iconic classical heroism that the west has largely lost since the post modern era. I grew up with Bruce Timm cartoons which very much had that same essence of deep and complex moral nobility to them that western cartoons today just lack

This is an excellent point. It's strange that America, with its Christian heritage, can't produce compelling cartoons that present clear distinctions between good and evil. The popular cartoons over here all tend to be irreverent adult content.

As a conservative Christian father anime slaps, I’ve watched close to 100 at this point and my son will be raised on it. So much better than western animated shows

Another reason why conservatives need to understand that policy is downstream from culture. Andrew Breitbart talked about for years, but still you have GOP politicians and talking heads that would rather stick their head in the sand and ignore it.

That is what's compelling to me about anime, those core values presented in an interesting/fun way. I moved away from "regular" tv shows because they became too much of a slop fest.
