Semantically annotating 3D gaussian splats on the fly using gemini 3.1 + sparkjs 1. Load any 3D scene and hit scan 2. Get 2D detections from VLM 3. Cluster outputs & project into 3D world space 4. Save as a persistent 3D semantic layer Inspired by Alexander Chen's experiments with gemini visual intelligence. Just had to try to lift it from 2D to 3D!

Instant Skinned Gaussian Avatars for Web, Mobile and VR Applications Short summary: In our system, we animate a background 3D mesh and have the Gaussian splats follow the mesh’s vertices. During preprocessing, splats are assigned to mesh vertices, and their relative transformations are stored. Once this data is saved, you can instantly use it in your applications without further preprocessing. Starting from a volumetric capture of a real location in Montreal, reconstructed as 3D Gaussian Splats, I then used World Labs' Marble to generate alternate versions of that same space. Adobe.. has released a tool that combines Generative Gaussian Splats with a Diffusion layer and it's not all over the internet? WHAT IS GOING ON :D I had to test this out ofc! Substance 3D viewer, the new 3d viewer just released by Adobe, not only supports viewing of a large, large list of 3d formats, but it also supports generating of 3d models as Gaussian Splats. Combine that with the built-in 3d to image functionality and you basically have at least a few of the steps I've been doing for the last year or so using multiple tools. Exciting stuff! The new Photoshop Beta also supports the 3D viewer and you can import 3d files directly in photoshop as smart objects linked to the viewer. The elements you prompt in based on your models, can be easily exported to your clipboard without backgrounds making it very easy to use this in your normal image editing workflows. I have a suspicion that we'll see much more of this in other Adobe tools and I'm very curious to see this used for things like this in more 3d tools than "just" Adobe Neo (which is fantastic btw). #adobe #art #gaussiansplatting

Look at how crispy this 3d gaussian splat came out! The reflections in the painting have me floored. Captured with a Sony a7iii camera and 18mm lens. I posed the imagery using epic's reality capture and trained it with lichtfeld studio. Lichtfeld is my new favorite way to train splats -- it integrates all the latest research and it’s completely free. Also what I love about 3d capture -- you can process old datasets with new algorithms and breathe new life into them.

I started developing a splat painting toolkit that includes procedural texture application, masking, layering, blend modes, relighting with multiple lights, custom texture import, displacements, stencils and more with paint brush and animation features coming soon. Now you can customize your Gaussian Splats in real-time procedurally in live web view 💪
