It's worth remembering that these adorable yeens likely were raised in captivity or at least have been there a long time. They learn to behave differently. They're more relaxed and if you know how to care for them a lot harder to piss off. You couldn't do this with a wild one.

Yeah but spotted hyenas aren’t even carrion eaters, there more successful than lions in hunting but I feel the fact that they eat everything is what gives them that stigma
