As I said before, a stick thrown into the spokes stops this in a nanosecond. Usually resulting in at least some very nasty road rash and even a concussion depending on the landing. The concussion isn't dangerous because there is nothing there to damage.

When I was 10 at the small town swimming pool, a kid stole my bike. I threw my shoes on and took off after him (he didn't see), went between houses and intercepted him in midair. Bent the crank/handlebars on the bike, 4 stiches in my head, but he had 18. I will not hesitate.
