If the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, then what is its end? Cut through the abundant nonsense, empty platitudes, and conventional musings of the world and get straight to the heart of what it means to be wise.

@ElijahSchaffer @SlightlyOffens Arthur, not only did you perfectly lift direct quotes to illustrate your point, but you framed the larger issue, the obvious stratification of society, and the willingness to lie about that divide, perfectly. Honored to call you a brother in this spiritual war

The Talmud is a 2,700 page document filled with debates. It’s not a divine religious document that teaches theological dogmas. It also doesn’t talk about Christians hardly at all—that is in no way a central theme, or even a notable theme in the text. Several of the passages you quoted totally ignore context and even eisegete meaning into the text that doesn’t exists. For example, “even the best gentiles should be killed” is referring to Roman soldiers & Roman authorities, as it was written during & in response to a time of mass persecution where 500,000 Jews were murdered—that passage is not reflective of Jewish thought about non-Jews.

I am a member of Chabad. I grew up in a very secular area and I have never held a negative attitude based on someone's religion. I try to approach people with a basis that they have their beliefs and I have mine. I hold mine to be true, as I am sure they do theirs. I leave others to their own beliefs, until they challenge mine. I know that there are hundreds of millions of Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, etc... It isn't my place to challenge anyone else's beliefs, just like I don't like having my own challenged. I think that if someone is on a spiritual path, no matter who's path it is, that is it good, if it is true to it's origins. When religion gets twisted and perverted by people looking for the support of their beliefs that are against their religious text, but they cherry pick information that supports their narrative is when they can run into trouble. What that man didn't choose to include is that in the Mishna Torah, Laws of Kings 8:11 States: "Righteous gentiles have a share in the world to come". It is a current belief that ANY HUMAN BEING who leads a good and moral life achieves a relationship and connection to G-d. For a Jewish person, there are 369 religious laws for a Jew to practice. For a non-Jew, to be righteous, there are 7. They are: 1) Do not worship Idols (Statues, man made creations, etc...) 2) Do not curse G-d 3) Do not commit murder 4) Do not commit adultery 5) Don't steal 6) Don't eat the flesh of a living animal 7) Establish courts of law But given that these laws in the Torah apply to Non-Jews should leave evidence that there is a place for Non-Jews in the world to come. Nobody exists that doesn't have the opportunity for a place in the life to come depending on their choices.
