The Yazidis are really starting to annoy me. To begin with, the people who liberated you, protected your honor, and welcomed you were the Kurds. Instead of thanking them, you belittle them?! This Yazidi claims that there is no Kurdish language and that it is actually the Êzdikî language. He also says that the original Kurds were Yazidis because the religion of the Kurds before Islam was Yazidism. (This narrative was promoted by the PKK.) He also claims that “we are older than the Kurds,” which is a lie. First, it is called the Kurdish language, and the Kurds have been mentioned for thousands of years, whereas the idea of a Yazidi nationality was established by the PKK in 2014 after what they call the “liberation.” No historical book has ever described the Yazidis as a nationality, and there was no one in the world a hundred years ago whose ethnicity was “Yazidi.” Second, the religion of the Kurds before Islam was Zoroastrianism, Yazdanism, or Christianity. There was no such thing as a religion called Yazidism at that time. Third, the Yazidi religion is originally a religion that deviated from Islam. They are followers of Adi ibn Musafir, the Arab Sunni Umayyad, who was praised by Ibn Taymiyyah. The tomb of Adi (Sheikh Adi) is located in Lalish today, and the Yazidis worship it. Fourth, when a Kurd calls you Kurds, it is because he loves you and sympathizes with you because of what happened to you. Otherwise, your entire sect is of no benefit to the Kurds. Finally, Sinjar is Kurdish and will remain Kurdish. People of other national identities will be expelled from it. I’ve always drawn a clear line between the PKK and the Kurdish people. Equating all Kurds with one of the most brutal terrorist movements on the planet is Kurdophobic! That position has become harder to defend now that Kurdish leaders like Talabani and Barzani openly support and empower the PKK. Yesterday, millions of Kurds across Europe demonstrated in support of the PKK in Syria- effectively telling the world: “We are all PKK.” That raises uncomfortable questions. If the PKK is so beloved, why did they come to Europe? The PKK has controlled Syrian Kurdish areas since 2011, and there has been no large-scale fighting there since 2015. For over a decade, supporters had the option to live under the movement they now glorify. So to every Syrian Kurd who joined these protests in Europe: what exactly did you flee? Not Assad. Not the PKK. The reality is this: there are now more PKK supporters living in Western societies than in Kurdish areas in the Middle East- and that will create serious, long-term consequences for Europe!

What is being confronted is a foreign-directed militia apparatus - the PKK / SDF - that operates outside the Syrian state, enforces parallel rule, and has repeatedly violated signed agreements! Equating Kurds with PKK/SDF is not solidarity - it is political erasure! Kurds are citizens of Syria. The SDF is an armed transnational organization that answers to Qandil, not Damascus, and uses Kurdish civilians as political shields! The actual destabilizing factor is not the state asserting sovereignty - it is the entrenchment of an unaccountable militia that: 📍runs parallel governance, 📍blocks integration into national institutions, 📍launches attacks after agreements are signed, 📍and deliberately provokes escalation to trigger foreign pressure. No sovereign country - none - is expected to tolerate a parallel army inside its borders! Demanding that Syria do so is not about stability or human rights. It is about freezing the country in permanent fragmentation! Threatening to revive sanctions for dismantling armed non-state actors does not defend civilians. The Israeli Ambassador to the USA, Yachiel Leiter, told Reuters: "After I personally attended the entire trilateral meeting in Paris, Israel never supported the Syrian army's attack on the Syrian Kurds. Any claim that we did so is a lie." Someone is trying to prove that Israel betrayed the Kurds. The Kurds were betrayed by the USA. Trump. Their allies in the fight against ISIS. Not Israel. The Kurds are subjected to ethnic cleansing in Syria, and they have taken the position of the blind, as if they do not see what is happening to their own Kurdish people. This cemetery belongs to the Kurdish fighters who gave their lives liberating Raqqa — the capital of ISIS. These are the same heroes the world celebrated for destroying ISIS. Today their graves are being desecrated by Syrian forces backed by the new authorities — the very groups many call ISIS rebranded and normalized by the West. The US and Europe once armed and praised the Kurds for defeating ISIS. Today they support and fund the people responsible for this horrible work.
