“What happens when Plan A doesn't work? Can the QB pull something out of thin air and still make a play? I'm looking for creativity here, as well as the ability to throw from weird arm angles and platforms.” I’m supposed to believe someone’s better than Patrick Mahomes at this.

Here is a throwback to Gruden’s QB camp with Patrick Mahomes. Please understand I’m a hardcore Bears fan that has witnessed terrible QB play for over 30 years. Caleb Williams is my QB, and I want nothing but success from his career. I will say outright, Caleb Williams has the most arm talent of any Bears QB ever. He has many traits similar to elite QBs, and that includes Patrick Mahomes. But I see Mahomes as a completely different college prospect based a few unique traits. With that being said, Caleb is still a generational prospect with traits that can be developed into a top 5 franchise QB. He is capable of winning superbowls, but he is still raw in a couple of essential areas. I see him as a mashup of Murray, Rodgers, Hurts, and Mahomes. How he develops under center will determine career path. He holds the ball longer than Mahomes but is adept in playing out of structure. I believe good coaching will lead to him being deadly in structure. I seriously hope our coaches recognize those differences and develop him to be his own player. He may not want to be a rushing QB in the league, but I believe his mobility will be a huge asset in the pros as it is for mobile QBs. Why not use it as he develops to play in structure. Williams-Mahomes similarities: -Arm talent -Off platform throws -Improv ability -Mobility usage (Thrower first mentality) -Pocket presence -Holds ball recklessly when scrambling -Quick release -Gamer mentality Traits specific to Mahomes: -Elite Pocket processing -IQ reading back end of defenses -Stands strong and delivers in pocket despite big hits after throw - Alpha Male, strong leader - Elite Anticipation Traits specific to Williams: - Superior athlete (Similar to Murray) - Can playmaker himself out of tackles (similar to Hurts) -Versatility as passer (velocity, touch, and arm angle) *Unique trait - Instincts (Similar to Rodgers) - Play fakes (Similar to Rodgers) - Can win with erratic footwork (Similar to Rodgers) -Does majority of damage out of structure -Elite Redzone threat with legs (Similar to Hurts) - Wears heart on sleeve. Emotions weigh heavy (Murray has outbursts towards others, Williams holds it to himself) Grows for Williams: -Playing in structure -Footwork -Holds the ball - Fumbles & Turnovers -Balancing highs and lows These grows should sound familiar as it is the same things Fields struggled with. Caleb has quicker arm, better feel, and anticipation on his side. They have two completely different skill sets, but it’s ironic that the Bears drafted a QB that struggles with similar aspects of the game. The upside as a passer makes it worth it but how will coaching get it right this time? Sure hope Waldron coaches better than Getsy because Getsy completely butchered Fields. Do not coach your QB to do the complete opposite of what he does best. Miller: Who lives in your country determines what your country is. Haiti doesn't work as a country. If you move it to America, it's not going to work here. Somalia doesn't work as a country. You take Somalia out of Somalia and put it here and it's not gonna work any better. If you move the third world to the first world, eventually we become the third world and that's not good for us and it's not good for anybody who wants to live here in the future.
