Quick tip: You probably know that you can extend an AI video by extracting the last frame and using that frame as the initial image for image to video. If you join the videos with Capcut (free video editor) you can use Mix to smooth out the transition which will very quickly improve your result. AI videos here generated with Pika (super impressive text to video) and Minimax (super impressive image to video).

Making a camera was way harder than I thought. Here's what I learned: If you want smart phone level camera, you can't just buy a smartphone camera component That's because cameras talk to a special chip (ISP) that does all kinds of magic There's special image software too, and you can't do it yourself, so it's gonna cost you $100-250k for that software that does tuning, HDR, MFNR, etc. Takes months to implement properly Then it's even worse if you want to livestream. Since you can't do the processing after the fact, you've gotta make all that special software run realtime on a resource constrained processor You also gotta realize our hands and heads aren't stable at all. The video is shaky until you do electronic image stabilization (EIS) If you don't do every single one of these right, then you'll have potato-quality video After all this work, we've now got something really good, and I'm amped to ship Mentra Live smart glasses because it's a smart phone quality camera that sees what you see, live streams anywhere, and has an open-source SDK you can build apps with.

Excited to share a few presentations, demos, and workshop talks from our group and collaborators at #ICRA2026! We will present recent work on real-to-sim-to-real robot policy evaluation, model-based planning with learned dynamics, and multi-modal manipulation. We will also have a joint live demo between SceniX and Analog Devices, Inc. on real-to-sim-to-real cable manipulation at the ICRA exhibition. This is a small teaser of what we have been building, with more to come soon! If you are at ICRA, please stop by the sessions or the demo booth. Happy to chat about robot learning, simulation, world models, and sim-to-real!

Today on The Science and Experience of Energy, we describe mysterious mitochondria-like particles that we found in blood and saliva using high-resolution electron microscopy. These particles had double membranes, and some had folds in the internal membrane—a feature that is unique to mitochondria. We don’t yet know what exactly these particles are or their purpose, but we're excited to learn more about them. The massive image database is the first of its kind—have a look if you want to see what circulates in the human blood. Thanks to NIH and Baszucki Group who've supported our work, this resource is freely available to everyone.
