What is Labour hiding? Confirmation from interviews this week that the Labour Party is in disarray on policy — with serious questions now being raised about whether it is concealing controversial policies until after the election. On Wednesday, Chris Hipkins said the party would release more policy after the... election, before quickly walking back his apparent Freudian slip and claiming it would be after the budget. On Friday, Willie Jackson was asked the same question. He began to say “just after the election,” then caught himself and changed it to “two to three months before the election.” Labour clearly has serious problems with its policy platform. More concerning, however, is the strong impression that it is keeping controversial policies up its sleeve, ready to release them only if it wins the election.show more

BREAKING: Special Counsel Jack Smith has just asked the Supreme Court to rule on whether a President has absolute immunity for crimes he/she committed while in office. Smith is trying to circumvent Trump’s appeal, which would possibly delay the trial until after the election. Smith has asked the SCOTUS to act quickly. If they do, it would likely mean that Trump would have to face trial in the January 6th case before the 2024 election. If they don’t, Trump might just get what he hopes for and delate the trial until after the election. (video from when the indictment against Trump was unsealed)

I want to ask three questions first, which will make it very clear that the BJP is directing and using the Election Commission to damage India's democracy. ❓ Why is it that the CJI was removed from the selection panel of the Election Commissioner? What motivation could there be to remove the CJI? Do we not believe in the CJI? Of course, we believe in the CJI. Why is he not in that room? I sit in that room. It is a so-called democratic decision. On one side, PM Narendra Modi and HM Amit Shah. On the other side, the leader of the opposition. I have no voice in that room. What they decide is what happens. So, why are the Prime Minister and Amit Shah so keen on choosing exactly who the Election Commissioner is going to be? ❓ This is a devastating one. No Prime Minister has done this in the history of India. In December 2023, this government changed the law. They changed the law to make sure that no Election Commissioner could be punished for any action they take while they are Election Commissioners. Why would the Prime Minister and Home Minister give this gift of immunity to the Election Commissioner? Why would they need to give this tremendous gift that no prime minister has ever given before to the election commissioner? ❓ Why was the law with regard to CCTVs and the data that they contain changed? They had all the time in the world to issue an opinion or an injunction before allowing this election to happen. They did not overturn a map—they overturned an election. Chris Hipkins has now admitted that the party’s flagship promise of “three free doctors’ visits a year” might not involve seeing a doctor at all. According to Labour’s own policy, these so-called “free doctors’ visits” can be used with nurse practitioners instead. The party openly admits this, yet it cannot even say how many of those visits will actually be with a real doctor. Meanwhile, Labour is marketing the policy as “free doctors’ visits” to win votes, only to quietly concede it’s just another primary care appointment. What doesn’t change, however, is that taxpayers will still be forced to pay for it through the party’s proposed capital gains tax.
