The certification process has been so slow and poorly handles by the accessors. And without certification, no grant or no starter pack. Please look into this sir

Hon. Minister I think you need to take a look a polytechnic system in Nigeria and abolish it. They should all be offering degrees. Spending minimum of five years and having HND does not make any sense. Even the British we inherited it from have abolished theirs over 30 years ago. This is a low hanging fruit that will reduce the pressure in the admissions in Nigeria. The HND which has to go do post graduate does not make any sense. They could be technical universities just the same way we have university of technology.

Access to education is important, but so is what we are preparing young people for. Robotics, AI and practical technology skills need a bigger place in our education system. We’re exploring a robotics hub ecosystem ourselves, and I believe the potential among Nigerian youths is huge.

Today we announced a number of reforms to teacher training, teacher resources and the national curriculum. We are also strengthening the powers and the penalties of the tertiary education regulator that oversees universities. To drive these reforms and recommend further actions to prevent and respond to antisemitism today we announced the establishment of the Antisemitism Education Taskforce. Scott Adams once said, “Every skill you acquire doubles your odds of success.” This is part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and our Federal Ministry of Education strategy. In partnership with eight universities, we launched the construction of three quality pre-primary schools in Buno Bedele Zone of Oromia Region, with an investment of ETB 43.5 million through the Summer Volunteer Service Program. We also planted seedlings and delivered educational materials for 1,000 students. These are more than school buildings. They are investments in our children, their learning, and the future they will shape. Once completed, these schools will provide young children with a strong foundation on which to build their lives. We extend our sincere gratitude to the people and administration of Buno Bedele for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. The transformation underway in pre-primary education is fundamental to improving the quality of our entire education system.
