Chariot CEO Adam Warmoth says the U.S. lost track of what actually matters: winning—but now that's changing. "There was this overcorrection where the process became the outcome." "I think what you've seen with the guidance from Secretary Hegseth, Secretary Driscoll, and General George is really refocusing on the outcome." "It's been a complete transformation in terms of the willingness to accept risk—the willingness to bring in new entrants." "I think that outcome focus is really what I would say is the central tenet of the transformation initiative." Chariot Defense Erin Price-Wright

Cursor CEO Michael Truell: Programming in the future might not mean programming with an AI helper, but in a new language entirely. "There is a future version of the world where the way you interact with AI is a little bit less like it's a human helper that you're delegating work to... and instead, it's a little bit more of an advance in compiler or interpreter technology." "It can lead you to a world where programming languages actually change. They can start to be a little bit more about what you want and a little bit less about how you do it." "There is a world where direct manipulation of the UI starts to play a little bit more into it." Michael Truell with Patrick Collison

ElevenLabs CEO Mati Staniszewski shares the biggest thing he learned at Palantir: the importance of being an artist. “At Palantir there was this concept that you need a little bit of understanding of art to do your job well. People need to try to be artists.” “One of the phrases that was used was artist colony… I never fully appreciated the strength of that, but I do feel a lot more about this now as we intersect with AI and the creative space in many ways.”

Greg Brockman on AGI arriving quietly and unevenly: "I think that AGI has turned out to be less of a point in time and more of this sort of fuzzy spectrum. And for me, Astra has really hit something that I'm like, 'Okay, I think this is pretty reasonable to call it AGI.'" "With its computer use capabilities, you really can ask it to do long-lived tasks, and it'll just do it. We've seen it run coherently for 24 hours to go accomplish tasks that I think are quite amazing and across a wide variety of domains." "It still is jagged... It's the first time it's not slop writing. But it's not great writing. There are a number of areas where I feel like we just need to polish it a little bit, and it would be fantastic. It's just not quite there." "What people are finding is that it is so capable across such a wide variety of tasks, that it is accelerative, it is empowering, and it's something that I think we've never really seen a model that's been a jump like this." Greg Brockman

lando on the boys trip to langkawi: "someone told me about it. originally i think it was me and carlos and maybe some of the others were going then it ended up just being more and more. but i stayed away, they went to do karting and have a bit of fun and i did my own thing. i kept to myself a little bit. honestly, it's two sides one is just good fun because they're all a good group of people and i enjoy to spend time with them and it's nice to be with people outside of racing and outside of work. but at the same time they're the last people i want to see when i have some days off 😁 so, it was a mix we had some nice dinners and play chess, we did different sports and stuff, we played padel and a bit of golf together. but at the same time, it was nice for me to do my own thing and do a bit of training and be alone for some days."

You guys absolutely roasted me for posting this. So here's one that went a bit better. Btw, I don't need to cold call. I do it to prove a point. I get tons of inbound leads and referrals. Hopefully it motivates someone to pick up the phone/knock the door. It's not that hard.

Charles Kanjama: It is a groundbreaking ruling because it is breaking new ground. It is a ruling that, in my view, takes the country a bit backwards on issues of public participation. Personally, I am a bit disappointed on that issue, and I feel that on some of the other aspects that were dealt with by the court, there was a tendency to disregard part of the evidence that was there to challenge. I feel that this groundbreaking judgment of the court had a number of missteps that need to be addressed when the matter goes to the court of appeal #CitizenMondayReport

“i’ve been told that you've tried spending less time on your phone recently, which i believe is a very hard thing to do. what made you do it? and did it actually work?” 🆑: yeah, i am achieving that. then there's a balance to find, because it's also true that as soon as you are... you kind of feel a little bit disconnected on what's going around because today everybody is with a phone, and so there's a balance to find. i did two or three months, i think, without ever touching my phone apart from whatsapp when i was receiving messages and calls, and that was maybe a little bit extreme. so now maybe i'm trying to find a balance between the two because it's good to be up to date with what's going on around the world and to stay in touch with friends and funny moments. there's also lots of funny moments on social media and it part also of social interaction with friends and family. so there's a balance to find, but it is also true that it's a place where sometimes it can be a little bit toxic when you are in a position where people can kind of judge and say anything very, very easily. and they have the right to do so, but as a human being, you can also be affected by looking at those things. so it's a balance to find. i don't know if i found the perfect one, but for now it works for me, which is the most important.

Kodai Senga was asked what exactly he felt in his arm: "Obviously, the performance hasn't been great on the field. Been practicing a little bit more and with that comes a little bit more fatigue. I got some treatment and the treatment effects were a little bit greater than I anticipated. It became a little bit more loose, so that caused the nerve sensations. It's not like it's inflamed, I wouldn't say this is an injury. Going back to what I said earlier, continuing to strive for those mechanics, striving for health and getting back to the field I don't think is too far."

joe locke: "i think at the moment i'm in this place where i feel like everything i get sent now is for another vulnerable skinny twink. which is great. and i know i can do that. and i'm really honored that the industry sees me as, like, the go-to guy to be the vulnerable gay guy. and it's holding space for both that feeling of, like, wow, this is an amazing thing, but also like, oh, but i know i can do other things, and i really want to be able to prove myself that i can, or prove to people that i can do other things. what's not, like, coming across like a bit of an asshole being like, oh, well, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, because, you know, i'm so grateful that i'm in the opportunity to be able to be seen as that, but i also, i'm also someone who always wants to prove themselves, and so i want to be able to do that. so, i don't know what that, like, to me, what that is, whether it's like a film that has nothing to do with sexuality, a film where i play a straight guy, a film where i even play a gay character that's just not like charlie. but i think that it's almost that, like, it's that, like, classic, like, miley cyrus thing of, like, her post-disney days where she—but with less disrespect and with a torrent of respect to the character of charlie." 🎥:

Remembering the great Czech filmmaker, Miloš Forman, on his 94th birthday! Miloš Forman on what makes a director 'Good': "Director is little bit of everything, little bit of the writer, little bit of an actor, little bit of an editor, little bit of a costume designer. Good director is the director who chooses for this profession people who are better than he is. Yes, I can write, but I have to have a writer who is a better writer than I am, I have to have actors who are better actors than I am, I have to have sound engineers who are better sound engineer than I am, you know. It's a strange profession.... visually it's your vision." Clip from: Loves of a Blonde (1965) Director: Miloš Forman
