How about we stop carrying these devices like they are life or death and just leave them home, make a list on paper, buy only old cars, and say no to digital ID. we are now under attack from a corp/govt takeover of all humans

When I go to Walmart, I leave my phone at home! I cover my license plate before I enter their parking lot. (Yes I know it's not legal) I cover the camera on the register before I start using self check out

Burger King is doing the same, I think theyre all doing it.. . I ordered a burger on the app and paid 2.50 more than what it was listed on the drive thru when picking it up. I will never buy food from any fast food again for the rest of my life! And I will do the same for Walmart!

Just deleted the app. Don’t shop there very much maybe a few times a year for canning supplies, band aides, washing soda, now I’m done.

Also those cheap-ass Vizio TV Walmart is selling. You take it home, connect it to the internet, and suddenly it can collect data about how you use the TV, including what you watch, apps you use, device identifiers, IP address, and advertising/interaction data, depending on your settings and consent. That doesn’t mean Walmart can magically see everything happening on your home network. But Walmart owns Vizio and its advertising business, so the TV and viewing data have value far beyond selling you a cheap screen. People think they got a deal because the TV was cheap. The TV was cheap because your attention - and the data around it - are valuable too. Hell of a business model. 🙄

Where are all the nay sayers that the data centers aren't for AI compute. People don't understand you need extreme amounts of power to run the massive calculations it has to do every single prompt. and then some. And then some more. And some more.

Stopped shopping at Wally-World YEARS ago, because it was a hot mess with a chaotic parking lot and they weren’t very customer service oriented. I decided to support my local businesses instead. It might cost a bit more, but it was worth my sanity & I appreciate good service!
