Expulsion and charges pressed. He’s already on his way to a life behind bars, might as well expedite it.

This is one reason teachers are leaving the profession. "The inmates are running the asylum."

Expulsion and nothing less.

Administrators will do nothing to defend the teacher. Social workers only make matters worse by making excuses for the student’s behavior. Only in public schools.

I get hit in the face like that, I’m stepping away and calling the police. I had a kid start move towards me in an aggressive manner to enter a building he wasn’t allowed in. I said, You touch me, I’m calling 911 and pressing charges for assault. His eyes got huge, and he backed off. Done with f**king around.

Admin often say let us handle it in house which means restorative justice & the teacher being asked what THEY could’ve done differently & why didn’t THEY build a relationship with that kid. Me after 20+ years in public Ed in a pretty good school? Straight to law enforcement.

Charges should be filed by the teacher. Student should be up for expulsion.

Permanent suspension from the school district. If the child happens to wish to continue his/her education, they can go into the county or state system for youth offenders. The school district should petition to have the child permanent barred from any district building or educational obligations.

Teachers should have the right to defend. Try to descalate first, but once an assault by a student begins…well, they’re in school to learn & teachers should teach them a lesson.

Immediate expulsion, with the exception of an IEP level where such behavior could happen. In most cases that means enrollment in an alternative school program. THAT DOES NOT MEAN A FREE PASS.

A student assaults a teacher? That’s not a “teachable moment,” that’s a five-alarm breakdown in accountability! Protect the teacher, remove the student, investigate it, and bring real consequences. Schools cannot become the Wild West. Respect the educators!

Expelled from district but I bet this kid had very little consequence.

At some point you must cage up the animals. Society is done with this behavior.

Arrest. That’s what should happen when anyone assaults someone else.

There needs to be a national teachers bill of rights.

If he were black, he's end up in cuffs.

Taken down hard by staff, belt-whipped in front of peers , dropped off at youth authority & never seen again. Teaching and learning is hard enough without these ghetto f@ckwads.

Student should be ordered into counseling and placed in online school. It does concern me that in this video, the teacher grabbed students arm and that’s what started students reaction. Teachers cannot touch students. It’s also concerning the level of force used by other staff.

Teachers shld be able to defend themselves. Kids act like this because they know nothing will happen to them.

What would happen in the workplace? You'd be immediately terminated, and the police would be called. Security would escort you from the building.

They should be arrested and then go to either a detention facility or a special school, because they can’t function in a public school setting.

What happened should be the norm, especially by that age. I routinely tell my violent elementary students that their behavior will not fly as they get older. They’re not cute acting that way at 7; at 17, it’s jail time.

That kid deserved it. I'd anymore. You can bet if my kid or grandkids did this and got knocked into next week, I'd be next in line to knock him into the week after. It's called consequences.

Jail time. Start making them accountable for their actions.

The same thing that would happen if he hit that man outside of school. Arrest him and charge him with assault. Then enroll him in online school.

I think the teacher who body slammed him wasnt the one who was hit. That could be a problem. It's hard to say you were defending yourself when you come running up from the bleachers.

My daughter was thrown down by an 8th grade boy. Her Philly principal told her to go home. She called us and her father said drive back to the school and wait for the Police I'm calling. Hello Juvie.
