That's a common tactic in my area one town not far from me, got in trouble because they put a Hitler mustache on the mannequin

And I'd be willing to bet money that the cop that cruiser is assigned to is likely getting an overtime pay for it too.

I could see them being useful before blind intersections and dangerous curves. Causing folks to be more attentive while driving isn't a bad thing. And I trust a mannequin with a badge more than what most jurisdictions hire.

There used to be a cop car like this is Joshua Texas until kids busted in and repositioned the cop every few days or so until they decapitated it and put the head on the dash.

They use that on the main road that cuts through my little town in Illinois that only has 500 people in route 37 in southern Illinois. That's a pretty busy street considering the rest of the area. The cop in my town quit and I can't find another😂

PA State Police park empty cruisers in areas they want traffic to slow down all the time. Not sure if they use dummy officers.

They’ve been doing this since I was in middle school but here they would occasionally move the fake car and replace it with a real one

They’re parking empty cars to trick people around here on top of being sneaky with traffic stops
