If this is true, it should be a nationwide recall

FYI: Sugar isn't food. Food has nutritional value.

READ THE LABEL: The X post shares a viral TikTok video from @sidsobased777 demonstrating an experiment where 1.5 cups of Walmart's Great Value granulated sugar, rinsed under hot water, leaves a white, non-dissolving residue claimed to be plastic contamination. The residue appears to be a thin layer of anti-caking agents like cornstarch or calcium silicate, standard additives in commercial sugar (less than 1% by weight) that prevent clumping but may not fully dissolve during rinsing, as confirmed by food science resources. This echoes past viral food scares, such as non-melting ice cream myths, but FDA-approved agents pose no health risk in typical use; users can verify ingredients on packaging, which lists only "sugar" for pure varieties.

We need to start a class action lawsuit against all food manufacturers and distributers of food.

Ummmmmm. Couple things. 1. Did she say hot water? 2. That’s not plastic that’s the cornstarch and baking soda additives added combined with the sugar under hot water crystallizing around the additives. Smh. If it’s plastic then wait for it to dry and make a pile of it and burn it do actual proof. Be sure to sniff th smoke for correct diagnosis.

I have watched several videos this morning about Walmart and how they are screwing us. First of all, apparently all of their meat is weighed and then when a customer re-weighs it it weighs significantly less than what’s on the label. Maybe we shouldn’t shop at Walmart anymore

Had a woman patient that insisted that there was something off about Walmart sugar. Insisted. Incredibly talented baker/cook. Refused to use Walmart sugar and was very vocal about it.

@MBottroff This experiment would be more accurate if the sugar was in the bought packet she bought it in. Showingnit coming out of her container isn’t reliable. But if this is true, then everyone needs to check their sugar. Micro plastics are very harmful to your health.

I know someone who works for Walmart. They regularly find ways to make products that look like the real deal but are made with inferior quality. Sure you are saving money but you are not getting the quality you expect. I haven't shopped at Walmart in over 20 years.

They want us sick & dead. The ultra wealthy have taken over our government, printed 40% of the money that’s ever existed, poison our food, took away healthcare, bought all the houses, deployed Palantir, consolidated our data, and built a $170B paramilitary to police the fallout

FFS. Crystallized sugar takes longer to dissolve than granulated sugar.

How did she find that out? Did the recipe say rinse your sugar?

I had pickles the other day, bit into a pickle, it was crunchy, glass, I was crunching on glass. I don’t have any idea how it got in there. Yes, I sent them the picture and the batch and all they did was send me a fucking $3.00 coupon. 😞🥴

It's probably large sugar crystals (cheap processing), apparently that sometimes happens with beet sugar? Anyway that's what I've read, it was mentioned previously on a few forums from a few years ago.

How absolutely f’ing retarded do you have to be to still be buying and eating processed white sugar in 2026, much less when it comes from Walmart. If there actually is plastic in it, that should be the least of your concerns in regard to ingesting it.

Wait, who’s she blaming it on, republicans? Nobody deregulated sugar 🤦‍♂️ Cause last time I checked, @Walmart was liberal AF. The U.S. regulates raw sugar through a combination of trade policies, food safety standards, and environmental guidelines. If I misread her snarky comment, I’ll apologize.

That doesn’t look like plastic. Looks like larger sugar crystals, or maybe some fused silica.
