WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED

I'm getting real tired of runners initiating the contact and umpires rewarding it. Like a jump shooter kicking out their leg.

I'm a Pirates fan but Gonzalez totally ran out of the baseline to initiate interference lol

Runner ran outside the base path, should have been out but the ump got giddy with the home crowd and rewarded him for it.

Really smart baserunning, faster to run thru the bag than slide. Only makes sense in this scenario but very heads up ball.

Pirates learned from El Mago 🤣 doesn’t get any worse than this

The Rockies are being the Rockies! Pirates on top 2-0.

Gonzales jumped into the defender lol

Gonzalez said “force out? Nah” and YEETED straight through the bag like it owed him money. Pure unhinged Pirates chaos. Baseball needs more of this😂🏴☠️

Why did the SS not throw to 1st LOL Also, 1 million IQ base running from the Buccos there

Thats Banana Ball

Never seen a runner run through 2nd like that

Be upset at the rules all you want but the base runner should never even have to consider needing to avoid a fielder who doesn't have the ball or isn't making a play to get it

I swear the Pirates and Rockies are a Little League teams. They are always involved in the most dogshit plays I've ever witnessed.

Unfortunately I’ve seen this many times on mlb the show 😐

These replies are nutz! I HATE the Pirates but that is gr8 baserunning in exactly this situation. If the runner slides into 2nd and is forced out, no run scores. He runs thru & beats the force, gives chance to the runner previously on 2nd who smartly runs thru fielder in baseline

Excellent play by Lowe to run the 2nd base like going to 1st, too bad the runner at 3rd did not run full speed ... but was safe eventually

I'm used to seeing clips of the Pirates involved in Little League-esque mistakes just usually not in their favor!

People in the comments talking about the runner overrunning second base and not talking about why Karros didn't simply throw across to force the batter at first and end the inning...

Excuse me but I thought there was a new rule in place that you couldn’t run through the bag at 2nd?

Lmao I’m fucking dying bro 😂😂 we’ll take it though

Interference on the fielder. Can't run without the ball in the baseline. correct call.

That play at 2B looked like a video game glitch.

That's some chaotic, high-IQ baserunning. Runner never breaks stride, forces the middle infield to panic, and turns a routine out into a manufactured run + obstruction. Baseball at its messiest.

@Pat12Aft3rDark oh my fucking god dude

Rewarding the base runner for going out of his way to seek contact 🫠

The Rockies are the 8th wonder of the World

Seems like the right call. The guy obstructing was never in the play and never touched the ball.

The old Rockies are back LOL

The runner deviated off his running line to make contact with the fielder. That's a bad call.

It was obstruction since the player was on the line, but throwing your whole body into them should be a foul on its own and cancel out the obstruction

This is confusing

Heads up by Lowe to at least get a run in before getting 3rd out. Then Gonzales took advantage of Quintana standing on baseline. He obviously could've avoided him but why not try it hahaha.
