For yall not understanding, the mom basically used her son to get the guy to believe she loved him. She knew he was gonna get $ & basically was only dating him until she got what she wanted. She was dating someone on the side the whole time & faked the robbery so she could keep

She used a rich fan to get wealthy, and then pretending to get robbed, and then moved all the new shit into her place and broke Alamos. Trust because he just wanted a dad.

The mother was playing the long game. The minute she called him ugly, that’s when I knew she was never truly attracted to him and definitely didn’t respect him either. Something always felt off whenever she was on the phone, and now we know it was because she had another man she was emotionally invested in and cheating with the whole time. What makes the backstory so dark is that she essentially used both her son and that man as stepping stones to build a completely different life with the person she actually wanted from the very beginning. That’s probably where so much of Alamo’s resentment comes from, the realization that his own mother manipulated and lied to him for months. That’s why I honestly think it’s the best backstory in Euphoria so far. It was extremely well written and emotionally layered. It also shows how relationships and family dynamics can sometimes become less about love and more about selfish ambition, manipulation, survival, and personal desire.
