@RapSheet Carr PR statement.

lol yeah he did unless he wanted grievance filed for not letting them know about the shoulder until after they restructured the deal. This is nothing but a Derek Carr PR statement. Carr will return next year and the saints will “return the favor” by giving up the rights to his contact

@RapSheet Something else going on here. Like it was a non-football related injury that voided his contract perhaps? Middle ground negotiated by team is keep the $10 million, but "retire" and if you choose to come back the Saints will not interfere.

@RapSheet Can all the stupid ass saints fans shut up now about his “non football injury” 😂 no one more dialed in than Rap sheet and Schefter. “He did them a solid that he didn’t have to do” let it go cry babies

it’s a cover up

@RapSheet He had to have received something in return.

He possibly renegotiated his contract in bad faith back in march not disclosing the shoulder injury. "The Saints needed to create cap space, which they achieved by converting Carr's $30 million base salary and $10 million guaranteed roster bonus into a signing bonus." And that number he is giving back happens to be that $30 million.
