There were definitely red flags that she ignored

My FIL told us that he & his brothers would give me a bridal spanking at our wedding. He kept saying it, despite me insisting I was extremely uncomfortable w/ it. He thought my strong reaction was funny. My husband told him that if he even thought about it, he couldn’t come.

I feel nothing for these women. You wanna know why? Because during the courtship they allowed their men to treat them like this. Men don't act this way out of the blue. * They start out with verbally disrespecting their girlfriends * Then they purposely become unreliable * And finally, they physically hit you. Sometimes hard, sometimes soft (like a light shove in the head) Those women never check their asses from the start, so on her wedding day, he let her know what to expect in the marriage by doing this. This is what happens when you don't teach people (especially your partner) how to treat you.

If you can’t discuss what you do and don’t want happening at your wedding day in order to make sure the two of you are on the same page you have completely failed at vetting and should not be getting married.
