That looks like the result of years of bad parenting. As a parent, you take the L. It was your responsibility to raise them better. Hold the kid accountable. Make them repay damages.

Ship the kid off to boarding school because you've clearly failed as a parent

Wild guess...their father isn't there. This is a child who isn't regulating his emotions and not being properly disciplined.

A better question is how do you forgive yourself for raising a kid that would do that!

That's felony level destruction of property, and if you care about your kid you see that they get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law so they learn a hard lesson.

They're being sent to military school. You can love your child while admitting you don't have the capacity to handle them anymore. Sending them somewhere to be given structure and consequences for their actions is good for them. It ensures they won't end up in prison if they pulled the same in adult life.

This was years of failed parenting. The first time the kid breaks something in a fit of rage should be the only time it happens. It's gone too far, and now you have a major problem you clearly aren't capable of handling. Military boarding school is what you need to do now.
