They're odes to their gods Inanna (Ishtar-Venus), Nana (Sin-Moon god), and Ra (Apollo-Sun god) People are singing along oblivious to the fact they're actually praising real demons

I actually looked into this a few years back. A lot of the ‘na-na’s and ‘la-la’s you hear in music came from demo tracks. Writers used them as placeholders in reference vocals. Sometimes the team just liked how it felt or didn’t bother changing it. Easy to sing, and catchy. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I’m guessing but I think 6 people write 90% of hit songs, and also these are parts of a song that any international audience could sing along to without knowing the language.

“Na na na” initially started in India 1000s of years ago when they’d sing their spiritual hymns/mantras and they believed it stimulated the throat chakra, The repetition of the sound is known to also stimulate dopamine and its catchy lol

song publishing companies are obsessed with short term trends and actively request songs that are similar to other currently popular songs, just like the game and movie industry. so.. the reason is basically incompetence at the executive level i guess.

Ooh's, Aah's, and Nanas are generally filler for when the writer didn't know what to put there and deadlines are tight. I don't think it's always a conscious decision, but when the same few people write every song it does happen.
