“What's your evidence that integration (of asylum seekers) isn't working?” “I've seen it recently with the marches through London, where I saw some people who simply did not share British values.” Robert Jenrick conflates issue of immigration with pro-Palestine marches

Which British values are those? Breaking international law? Lying to the Queen? Rampant corruption? Stealing statues from Greece? Removing the right to protest? Illegally proroguing parliament?

Mass displays of racial hatred are not British values, no.

I'm a straight, middle aged, male, white Anglo Saxon Protestant, born in this country. I welcome immigrants & oppose the genocidal Israeli regime. My dad (born in this country) fought the Nazis & voted for socialism in 1945. These are "British values".

As a British man, I will not have JenThick tell me what are and what are not British values.

As Robert Jenrick says: "A million people coming into our country every year" - and one might add, from countries with very different cultures, traditions, faiths and beliefs. How can British Values - or anything else which makes us British - survive that onslaught? Seriously?

@Eesy20 Genocide is not a British value. Ethnic cleansing is not a British value. The mass murder of innocents is not a British value. Britain has committed these crimes historically. We recognise these war crimes when we see them. And we say no more. No more!

The only integration I have seen threat hasn’t worked is politicians interests and the public interest that put them in power. The political “British” values are their donors values.

@Ladyblues666 Clear and present racism/Islamophobia on display here. >90% people on Marches are UK citizens. Most were born in UK. This is the sort of rhetoric EDL & BNF thugs come out with.

Jenrick's reference to the marches is absurd. The reason the marches are taking place is exactly because most on the marches share specific British values against such horrors of genocide as well as rampant militarism. The majority of those on the marches are British as well as a large number of Jews who also happen to share a common bond forged on the basis of a natural revulsion against state extraconstitutional killing of Palestinian families. Unfortunately people like this politician and many in this government and Labour party do not uphold these British values. Such a moral deficit and general level of inhumane reasoning places such people outside the normal bounds of the British social conscience.

@lordofintent What are British values? Supporting Genocide? Is Jenrick going to deport us all, all marchers for Palestinian Freedom, to Rwanda? Or is he just an old fashioned racist?
