When a language that could not be read for 2000 years was deciphered, it confirmed the Bible. And you’re still an atheist???

FAITH DOES NOT DEPEND UPON ARCHAEOLOGY — BUT TRUTH LEAVES EVIDENCE “We do not need archaeological discoveries to validate the Bible. God’s account is trustworthy on its own.” Of course Scripture does not become true only when archaeologists confirm it. But presenting faith and evidence as enemies is a false choice. Christianity is rooted in history: real people, kingdoms, cities, battles, a real Crucifixion and an empty tomb. The Bible itself appeals to witnesses and public evidence. Luke investigated his sources. Jesus invited Thomas to examine His wounds. Paul appealed to hundreds who had seen the risen Christ. Acts says Jesus presented Himself alive by “many infallible proofs.” God is not frightened by evidence. The Merneptah Stele, c.1208 BC, contains the earliest widely accepted extra-biblical reference to Israel in Canaan. The Mesha Stele confirms Omri, the kingdom of Israel, Moab’s rebellion and the worship of Yahweh. The Tel Dan Stele refers to the “House of David,” showing that David was remembered outside Scripture as the founder of Judah’s royal dynasty. The Kurkh Monolith names Ahab the Israelite and reveals Israel as a substantial ninth-century military power. The Lachish Reliefs depict Sennacherib’s conquest of the Judahite city in 701 BC—the same Assyrian invasion described in Kings, Chronicles and Isaiah. The Tel Arad fortress preserves ancient Hebrew writing, military correspondence, administration and evidence of Judahite religious life. The Mount Ebal complex contains an early ritual structure built of undressed stones, approached by a ramp and associated with ash and burned animal bones. Its identification as Joshua’s altar remains debated, but it is a serious candidate for an early Israelite sacrificial site on the mountain named in Joshua 8. The Behistun Inscription, commissioned by Darius I around 521 BC and written in Old Persian, Elamite and Babylonian, records his accession and the revolts across the Persian Empire. It independently anchors the same Darius and imperial world found in Ezra, Haggai and Zechariah. Its decipherment also helped unlock cuneiform and recover the Assyrian, Babylonian and Persian background of Scripture. Many of these testimonies were produced not by Israel, but by Egypt, Moab, Aram, Assyria and Persia—often while boasting of defeating Israel. That makes them especially valuable as independent witnesses. Scientific investigation is continuing at the boat-shaped Durupınar formation in eastern Turkey. It has not been proved to be Noah’s Ark, and Christians should not claim otherwise. But radar, geological analysis and controlled sampling are legitimate. If evidence of human construction were independently verified, the implications would be enormous. The Shroud of Turin bears the image of a scourged and crucified man whose wounds correspond strikingly with the Gospel accounts. Its negative-image qualities, spatial information and extremely superficial image remain difficult to explain. The medieval radiocarbon result must be acknowledged, but the image-formation mechanism remains unresolved. The Sudarium of Oviedo is a separate bloodstained head cloth whose stain patterns have been argued to correspond anatomically with those on the Shroud. Neither cloth can simply be declared authentic, but both deserve serious investigation rather than ridicule. None of these discoveries creates the truth of Scripture. If Durupınar proves geological, Genesis does not collapse. If the Shroud proves medieval, the Resurrection does not collapse. Christianity does not stand or fall upon any single artefact. But evidence matters. Again and again, peoples, rulers, dynasties, cities and wars described in Scripture reappear in inscriptions, ruins and monuments. Evidence is not a crutch for God. It is a witness for humanity. The Bible does not fear the archaeologist’s spade, the historian’s scrutiny or the scientist’s microscope. Again and again, the stones cry out.

Look, we’ve never said some of the events of the Bible didn’t happen or some of the people weren’t real. We are saying it was all local and they worshipped several deities including Yahweh and wrote stories from that world view. Capisce?

All religions are dumb. But christianity is extra dumb. The belief that a god impregnated a woman with himself So he can sacrifice himself to himself to forgive us of sins he gave us and if you don't accept him, he's going to punish you for eternity.....but he loves you? STFU!!!!

Christianity is the dumbest religion on earth. I mean it's nothing but the story of an affair gone horribly wrong.

Many leaders have come and gone but the world still talk about Jesus. Even the ones that reject him know about his love for all. Think about it.

The bible reinterprets Babylonian myths...

Bill Maher shuts down Max Amini mid-sentence after he suggests the Bible and the Quran are the same book with different details. Maher is an atheist. Even he couldn't let that one slide. AMINI: "If they just took the good things [from each holy book] and didn't bother with those very crazy details... the world would have been a lot more balanced." MAHER: "I gotta stop you there, man... It's not really accurate, because the Quran and the Bible are not like the same book, just in a different language. They're just not." "First of all, the Bible is two halves. One is the Prince of Peace, whose message was very different than Muhammad, who was a warrior. Christianity is founded on being a martyr and suffering." "Islam, their best century was their first. They came out of the desert and conquered the whole world, and they didn't do it by asking. It doesn't happen that far, that quickly, by asking. There's a reason why the Saudi Arabian flag is two swords." "Okay, everybody was like that back then. They were just very successful at it. But that influences what's in the book." "The Bible is an anthology of so many different authors over different eras, and some of it is batshit, and some of it is poetry." SIDE NOTE: If you've never read the Bible, no book comes close to the beauty you'll see there. As someone who converted later, I was stunned by the poetic language the first time I read it. You can really sense the Holy Spirit guiding each author. No other book is a more moving read.
