Tony Gonzales (R-TX) says he has “seen the administration highlight more on convicted criminal aliens.” Gonzales also said he’s encouraged by the administration’s focus on “going into the jails” to conduct arrests: “If you go into a jail and you go cell by cell, that makes more sense to American people than going house by house, going ‘Are you an American citizen or not?’,” he says. “It's safer for the agents as well. Yesterday, ICE agents walked up to a U.S. citizen’s car, opened his door, and when he asked if they had a warrant, one agent said: “I don’t need a warrant.” Then they pulled the passenger out of the car and took them. Let’s be clear, that’s not how the law works. -Federal Judge Jeffrey Cummings ruled last month that ICE cannot make arrests in Illinois without a judicial warrant or probable cause. - The Fourth Amendment protects everyone from unlawful search and seizure… especially inside their private vehicle. -Opening someone’s car door without consent or a warrant is an unconstitutional entry. -And saying “I don’t need a warrant” is an outright admission of violating that law. 🚨BREAKING: ICE agents allegedly hit a man with their vehicle, while on private property, in Oklahoma City… and when the property manager told them to get off the property, they argued with her instead. You can hear the man crying out in pain in the background. She tells ICE they can call an ambulance for him, but they need to leave the property. And she doesn’t back down. Eventually, an ambulance and stretcher arrive. Being an ICE agent does not mean you get to ignore the Constitution. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures. And that protection applies to everyone in the United States…regardless of immigration status. ICE cannot walk onto private property because they have badges and guns. They need consent, a proper warrant, or a legally recognized exception to enter private areas for enforcement purposes. And if the property manager is telling you to leave, and you don’t have legal authority to remain there, you don’t get to just argue your way into staying. Then there is the person we can literally hear crying in pain. If ICE agents hit someone with a vehicle, we deserve answers. Because this is what happens when federal agents start believing the rules don’t apply to them… They enter private property. They use force. They hurt people. And then they expect everyone to just stand there and accept it because they’re with ICE. Federal agents are not above the law. And the fact that a property manager had to stand there and tell armed federal agents that they need to get off private property… should be absolutely infuriating.

In the video, the building manager asks a very simple question: Do you have a judicial warrant? The agent’s response? “This is not private property.” Which is a wild thing to say while standing outside a locked residential building you’re trying to get into. He keeps insisting she’s wrong. She doesn’t budge. She finally says, “You aren’t going to get in. I’m not opening the door without a warrant.” Another agent then asks if she can tell him whether the person on his phone is inside. She says, “No.” He then responds, “Can’t tell me that either? Want to keep your criminals in your building?” And she shuts that down by saying, “I want to keep my residents safe.” Which is the exact opposite of what ICE was doing. Because trying to pressure your way into private property, without a judicial warrant, is fishing. It’s hoping someone doesn’t know their rights. And do you know what they hope you don’t realize? If this person was actually some dangerous “worst of the worst” criminal, they love talking about, getting a judge to sign a warrant would be the easiest part of their day. Instead, they show up with no warrant, no legal authority to enter, and try to lie their way inside. Because ICE agents are gambling on the idea that regular people will be too scared to say no.
