Philip Seymour Hoffman on the moment he realized he had to get sober. In an interview, Hoffman was asked about entering rehab at a young age. The interviewer mentioned he was 25, but Hoffman quickly corrected him. "I got sober. I was 22 years old." When asked whether it was drugs or alcohol, he didn't hesitate: "Yes. All that stuff. This is a clip I just cut from the questioning by Ashley Sauls MP-Patriotic Alliance to Fadiel Adams in the Adhoc Committee. You can tell that there must have been a lot of exchange of notes about Crime Intelligence. He too, must have known a lot. Fadiel says he was once a shooter, a robber and a druggie, but he offers hope to the Coloured children in the Cape Flats. He says there won't be hope "for as long as these people are in charge, and for him, it's personal". This agenda that was driven by IDAC is deeper than we ever imagined. This is why the Colin / Allie pickup story has never sat right with me. In Trial 1, Colin Albert and Allie McCabe both seem very comfortable with the clean parts of the story12:10. Allie was there. Colin came out. It was starting to snow. But then the details that would actually make the story feel real suddenly get blurry. Colin says Allie texted him that she was there. He says he responded “come in.” He says he came out 30 seconds to a minute later. But when asked where Allie’s car was in the driveway, he does not remember. When asked what part of the car he got into, he does not remember. Front passenger seat? “Could have been.” Was anyone else in the car? He does not remember. Was anyone else in the car when she dropped him off? He does not remember. Then Allie says she believes she was in the driveway, on the left side, but she is not entirely sure. She does not remember whether she came from Chapman or Cedarcrest. She does not know which front door Colin came out of. She says “I believe” like she is saying what she is supposed to say, not what she actually remembers. So they both remember the time. They both remember it was starting to snow. But they cannot clearly remember the driveway, the route, the door, the seat, or who was in the car. Now add the new Life360 details, which raise even more questions about Allie’s movements and whether the documentary record actually supports the simple version we were told. At some point, this stops looking like a normal memory gap and starts looking like a story that was built around a timestamp. I am not saying what definitely happened. I am saying the testimony and the data do not line up cleanly enough to just wave it away. If the pickup happened exactly the way they said it did, why are the most basic details so hard to answer?

He does not understand the meaning of Conflict of Interest, in the case of being friends with Sergeant Nkosi, and his brother's company bidding for a tender which he, as Chair of the Bid Adjudication Committee, would be adjudicating on. He didn't see a need to declare that friendship. The Chair and Commissioners are gobsmacked. His explanation is that he had assisted Ngaphesheya with a Tender document for another municipality which he can't remember, when he said to them "we need Grade A guards". It's that "we" again. 🤦🏽‍♀️ #MadlangaCommission

🧵 Crooked ROs derailing democracy? This is a complete video of the hearing by the RO PK79, Arshad Afridi, on the instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan (OFFICIAL)🇵🇰, on February 15th. The RO is asked whether he has any Forms 45. He says no. He is then given a copy of the Forms 45 and read the result polling station by polling station. He does not dispute the polling station results. When he is told by the lawyer that the count did not happen in front of the candidates, he does not dispute it. When lawyer Ali Gohar Durrani finishes his arguments, Arshad Afridi says he will need to consult his lawyer since he is not a very learned person. After, when I ask Mr Afridi as to why as RO he did not allow me inside, he says it is because he was not in charge of security (it was not in his hands). When I ask him whether the fact that the results in my Forms 45 are so different to what he has notified, does it not amaze him? He says he will need to look into it. After agreeing that he left the stadium at 3 am, RO Afridi claims that he returned to the stadium and announced the result from the RO room. But when confronted with evidence that after 6 am, I had access to the RO room and the DC and SSP Operations told me that the RO was not there, he he retracts his statement and agrees he was not there. Make up your own mind about the truth. To date, sadly Chief Secretary Nadeem Chaudhry, not IG Akhtar Hayat Gandapur have taken any actions or called any explanations of the officers present in the room; DRO Afaq Wazir or SSP Operations Kashif Abbasi, or CCPO Ishfaq Anwer who denied access to the complex to all contesting candidates including me. As a reminder, on PK79, having obtained 25102 votes and a 5x lead over the number two candidate, the 5th place candidate having obtained 1609 votes was declared elected in the official result.
