A unique use of HDR! High-risk saddle PE (now called stage D), in a patient with baseline cardiac index 1.2. Cleared out all right lung except the lower branch (full of clots), attempts to wire or manipulate the penumbra catheter in the branch failed. So I borrowed the coronary #CTO #PCI technique, engaged the cap with the Select catheter. Some contrast to stain, then "wired" the branch with the catheter over which I used the Penumbra Vascular catheter to clean the branch! I think coronary CTO operators can have a solution for any vascular bed! #CardioX

A high percentage of patients are unable to undergo a valve-in-valve TAVI procedure due to the high associated risks of sinus sequestration, coronary occlusion, or prevention of future coronary reaccess. The Splitter device, currently under testing, performs leaflet modification by creating an intentional U-shaped excision of the valve’s cusp tissue by a steerable catheter with an electrocutting wire loop running inside a cutting head that mimics alligator jaws.

Loved the new CPS Locator 3D catheter from Abbott Cardiovascular . Great experience implanting a 2088TC lead in the left bundle area. Loved the Helix Locking Tool aswell. Its awesome to be able to pace while turning the lead. Lots of pointers when to stop turning . #EPeeps Abbott Cardiovascular St. Bernards Healthcare

So I'm posting this clip from my four decades ago 1985 interview with Andreas Gruentzig about "The Ideal Catheter." He says: "For most of our problems at the present time, the balloon catheter is quite a good answer." #AngioHistory
