Squaring The Face Controlling your golf ball is all about managing the club face. Understanding the how the arms will influence the club face is key. The lead arm will have some internal rotation in the backswing, therefore we will need to add external rotation to this arm through the release. If we fail to do this, we will leave the face open and often bring in more chicken wing/scoop patterns through contact. Learning to externally rotate the lead arm will help you keep a flat lead wrist and deliver a stronger loft. If you’re a player who tends to slice or fade the ball, this concept will help you to feel what you need to square it up. I just posted the full version of this lesson on the ProShopApp!!! Here is a simple way to achieve the perfect wrist angles at the top of the swing WITHOUT spending any money on training aids! Grab a tee & place it inside the velcro of your glove. The end of the tee should be resting on your wrist. If you "cup or extend" the lead wrist at the top of your swing, you'll feel the tee digging in You want to feel the lead wrist flatten so the tee doesn't dig into the wrist. DON'T hit balls with the tee in the glove. When you are ready to hit a ball, take the tee out to avoid it digging in during the through swing 👊

This crash, quickly spikes force under the lead foot We can use this to speed up our body rotation, and get more energy to the club Also exaggerating a some more wrist cock in transition, I tend to release my wrist angles very early It can be really interesting how easy you can hit certain speeds without really trying sometimes 125 is pretty good for me, and I didn’t really “try” to hit it hard until the late downswing I was going a bit slower than usual in the backswing and transition to try and incorporate the technique moves I am working on Are you planning to work on speed this off season? Are you working on it currently? What are you doing, and how is it going? Fingers crossed for 130+ tomorrow for me.

During the downswing, you want your lead wrist moving TOWARDS flexion (bowing) I will admit, it's a difficult movement to learn, but you do see this with a lot of elite ball strikers Also something to note... This is suited to a neutral/weak grip type. If you have a really strong grip, doing this will excessively close the face, so take that into consideration Work on this at the range & you'll get better at it 👊

It requires precise and intricate match-ups. I’m see most people who try it, get the club behind them to early or “react” to the face not “match up”. Many internet-gurus would have you believe that all you need to do is flex your wrist, shift and spin and you’ll be amazing. For the majority that’s totally not the case. Swing your own swing and don’t follow fashion. Golf historically has trends (drive your knees-Nicklaus’s, Stack n tilt etc). All have merit but they are not the only way to do it and often don’t work for the majority. Swing your own swing and don’t follow the sheep. 🐑

Scottie Scheffler was asked ahead of the BMW Championship his thoughts on the new changes coming on the PGA Tour and whether he’d like to see any of the LIV players back. On the incoming changes, he said: “Getting the best players competing against each other more often is what we want as players. I assume, you guys in the media, that’s what you’d want to see. I assume that’s what the fans want as well and I think that’s the direction that we’re heading. “Making things a bit simpler in terms of who’s going to be at what tournament at what time. Golf has always been a difficult game to rank when you’re not playing head to head, and so getting the best players playing head to head more often than not in a proper tournament is, I think, the best way to do things.” He then was asked whether he’d like to see the PGA Tour offering LIV Golf players the same opportunity to return that was given to Brooks Koepka earlier this year: “Yeah, I think, when we talk about the best players, LIV has a few players that are really good. I think, the depth that we have on our tour is unmatched, but when you look at higher levels of LIV Golf there are definitely players that would provide a value to the tour and guys that I love competing against as well. “So I think going forwards there obviously has to be some kind of penalties. What they are, I’ll let Rolapp and all those guys figure it out. We have great leadership within the tour now. “But I think having those guys coming back and competing, whatever happens with LIV, whether those guys want to leave, you’ve got to ask them. But for me being able to compete against the best players in the world, there’s definitely some guys that can compete out here and I look forward to the chance of being able to compete with them more often.” PGA TOUR BMW Championship
