When a 9 1 1 call came in reporting a man in a construction uniform with a possible firearm, our Communications Centre acted quickly to assess the information and coordinate a response - helping ensure the safety of everyone involved. The results? •Arrest made with 3 charges laid, including possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose; weapon recovered. Startical's 3,5 meter VHF antenna recently put on a spectacular show following successful payload integration with our MP42 microsatellite bus: Startical will combine this giant helical antenna from Oxford Space Systems with radio payloads developed by Indra to test space-based Air Traffic Management communications on its IOD.2 satellite - a pathfinder for its planned 288-satellite constellation. IOD.2 will use aeronautical frequency bands to provide global voice and data communication between pilots and air traffic controllers, addressing the infrequent communications over remote regions and oceanic areas. Uninterrupted aircraft voice communications could increase flight safety and create more efficient flight routes, reducing air travel costs and CO2 emissions. We're glad our flight-proven standard microsatellite bus — the same one our customers use for optical, SAR, radar remote sensing, and other missions — can also support rapid deployment and demonstration of safety-critical communications. Each week at the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC), public safety officials and department heads discuss street conditions and public safety updates like these. We will continue to take action and stay coordinated to keep our neighborhoods safe.
