The Refaat Alareer Camp is a medical camp, meaning we have criteria for the families that we bring in who have vulnerable conditions, chronic illnesses or injuries, so that we utilize our services and facilities to benefit those who need help the most. We have an onsite medical clinic that cares for our camp families, takes in patients from the area, and also fills medication and treatment requests we refer to them. Our team of nurses and doctors work diligently to host medical days to quell outbreaks of communicable diseases, provide nutritional support to hospital patients, and visit families in dire need who cannot afford even transport to see a doctor. They are heroes in a collapsing healthcare system. Our medical team recently held complete medical assessments for every resident in the camp. We have patients with amputated legs, shrapnel injuries, quadriplegia, brain damage, cerebral palsy, cardiac conditions, psychological disorders, burns, and more. They all need regular and specific medical care and medication they otherwise would not have access to, but that we of course provide. These costs really add up, so please support our Camp fundraiser in our bio so we can support these families and bring in more. The foundation’s mission is to provide direct financial assistance for people with Down syndrome and their families.
