A couple weeks ago we took Bernoulli and Beaker in to donate blood. Beaker missed the cutoff - she’s too little and under the 55 pound cutoff. We learned a TON. I thought they would take the blood from Bernoulli’s leg/arm but NOPE they take it from the neck. Dog legs don’t have enough blood flow to easily draw from. So that meant Bernoulli had to be flipped and pinned! He did awesome. His first time was a trial run and we are going to work on some skills for the real deal which happens in about 4 months. Dog blood types are fascinating so watch for a video about that soon.

This is a crazy case of a nurse who was arrest arrested for refusing to take a blood sample of an unconscious patient and hand it over to the Salt Lake City, police. The unconscious patient was hit by a suspected felon during a police chase. The felon hit the truck driver, putting him in an unconscious state in the hospital. The police wanted a blood sample from him. The nurse rightfully under orders from her superiors, and the law cannot just turn over the blood sample without consent from the patient or a warrant.. The police had no such warrant. She even had her hospital administrator sticking up for her, but she was arrested anyway. If she had turned over that blood sample, she would've lost her job as a nurse, and probably her license. In this case, I do not think she was hindering an investigation. My question is why didn't the cops get a warrant? They couldn't have a judge sign off on one? If you were this nurse, what would you have done? It's a terrible position for her to be put in.!!

Her organs are fine, the cancer is just in her breast and armpit. But her blood needs to be optimized to begin chemotherapy. The quickest way was to get blood transfusion. But she declined, and opted for injection alternatives. It remains entirely unclear if she’d still do Chemo. However, she might not. Because most times, blood transfusions become necessary during chemo. As Chemotherapy can reduce red cells, white cells, and platelets over time. If levels drop too low later in treatment, blood transfusions is needed for every stage of the treatment. So Twitter NG is in a split. While some understand her decision to be fateful to her religious doctrine. Others argued that, her life should be more important than the religious belief. And many used this as reference to argue why and how religious has kept the country stagnant. Adding that, she lied that she was ready to do whatever the doctor said, that’s why people donated over ₦30M to her. That, if she’s so religious, why did she lie. Recall, in June about ₦4M was donated for her, all she had to do was show up at a facility and the entire ₦10M estimated bill would be sorted. Essentially because in the Old Testament God told the Israelites not to eat blood because it is sacred. Leviticus 17:10–14 “God commanded Israel not to consume blood because “the life of the flesh is in the blood.” And Acts 15:28–29 “Abstain from blood.” And Genesis 9:4 “Do not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.” In essence, they believe transfusing blood = consuming blood, just through the veins instead of the mouth. And it’s a disobedient to God and a moral sin. This policy was introduced in 1945 by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. But it didn’t forbid blood transfusions. Until 1950’s when the church banned blood totally and then 1961 when they officially made blood transfusion a punishable offense. — disfellowship, ostracism, expulsion from the church. Academic scholars of the JW belief, have punished several researches that strongly argued why the doctrine is valid. Jehovah Witness also believes only 144,000 people will make heaven.
