Vegeta's all out blitz attack on Recoome, capped off with an early experimental version of the Final Flash!? One of the best animated sequences of the show. Episode 64 was supervised by Masaki Sato, who also recently wrapped up work on the Bardock Special. Sato and Nakatsuru always deliver. From DBZ #54 1080p OBA

That no matter how fast or strong Freeza is, his biggest weakness is that he did not know how to sense energy, which is exactly what would lead to his defeat. This was the end of the 'scouter' and 'battle power' era of DBZ: the Earthlings (and Vegeta learned) were right the whole time: learning ki was way more valuable than technology. Unable to cope with the fact that he was decisively beaten by a Saiyan, Freeza tries to launch a final cheap attack at Goku using the ki Goku shared with him out of mercy. This backfired. Freeza's ego could not handle being humiliated as Goku looks on with melancholy; not because Freeza was a 'good' person, but because he had potential to be a great martial artist and pissed it all away because of revenge. This is one of the most phenomenally animated scenes in DBZ: Goku and Trunks test each other in episode 122. Here it is, color corrected by Seed of Might and upscaled to 1080p by Neo-Raws. The skies are blue, the aura is the right gold shade, as are the clothing. This is literally the BEST DBZ can look, PERIOD. This is a true tribute to Toriyama and Koyama.
