When I am not writing geography threads, I spend my time going into the Scottish Highlands to find patches of snow left over from last winter. Today was just such a day. I even made a short video. I believe this is what 𝕏 calls “original content”.

Spent all day on sat on my bum working in a basement studio with zero natural light. Incredibly jealous ❄️🥾

Ah well. Business before pleasure.

Absolute legend account

Very kind!

Generous to share your time and insights, cheers!

The last Pyrenean glaciers are disappearing as we exchange these words.

Awful.

Does snow survive for so long at such a low level anywhere else on this latitude?

That’s a very good question, and I’m afraid I don’t know the answer. I don’t believe there’s any in Europe. I will have a look.

One of my fav accounts if not my favorite. I live for context like this. Keep doing what you’re doing ✌️

Thank you!

Is that today? I thought all snow patches had melted this year.

Yes it’s today.

Great. I’d googled before and now realise the AI answer was referring to 2025, not “this year”, as I’d asked.

If it thinks we’re still in 2025, I feel a little less worried that it’s about to wipe us out 😆

Iain, nice to see you. Love your accent. The snow? Meh. I suspect we'd all like to see you discovering your latest location/topic. Maybe on a beach or in a cafe. Better still, if you ever get to travel to one of your sites you'd have a fun travelogue. Thanks for all of it.

Thanks!
