When people say they don't like bean counters, it's usually not because they actually hate math or statistics. It's because they dislike the idea that the only things worth doing can be quantified. That's the right instinct.

I think also, part of it is that too much time resource seems to be allocated to quantifying others' work, and extracting value from it, as compared to producing goods and services. Often, the burden of quantifying the work is now being put onto the people doing the work as well. So you're doing the actual work, and then spending time quantifying it in order for value to be extracted.

DeFi is quietly stealing the spotlight from CeFi. BTC staking is creating a buzz. AI agents are working around the clock to maximize returns. Cross-chain advancements are opening doors to untapped liquidity. In other words...The financial landscape is transforming faster than ever. How are you positioning yourself for this shift?

When someone really insist in counting those beans despite of having a successful run of the business… must be careful because is most probably is working with really smart people that can easily manipulate the counting not because of cheating just to avoid the burden.

Biggest mistake I see consistently being made in software products is ignoring anything on the qualitative axis. Style, performance, character, thoughtfully observed low-friction workflows, etc. People need to love what you're making before they can be a part of it.

Big fan of DHH because of videos like this. I specifically liked when he said: ".. not just in business but in life, you don't get to count".

Steelmanning postmodernism would IMO be something like "tyranny of enlightenment is that everything get's redust to logic, facts, numbers and money and the only solution is to reject them all" (but IMO this would still result in a worse system).
