One more jaw-dropping data point. 13 minutes of teleoperation data was enough to fine-tune Dyna-2 to open a bottle cap using two five-fingered robot hands. How well do egocentric human videos scale? Apparently, really well. Dyna Robotics has introduced Dyna-2, a world-action model (WAM) pre-trained on more than 1 million hours of real egocentric human video. It learns by jointly predicting the next video frames and the actions, and that video prediction (world modeling) is what carries learning from humans to robots. • More human video predictably improves action prediction. • Task accuracy improves across embodiments (bimanual arms and a humanoid) with zero robot data in pre-training. • Post-trained on just a few hours of robot data, mean task performance rose 20% to 53% as human pre-training scaled 1k to 1M hours. WAM vs VLA, matched apple-to-apple: the WAM hit 1.55x the VLA's success rate and won 65% of head-to-heads. Deployed zero-shot at unseen customer sites, it passed 87% vs the VLA's 46%.

If you don't spend time at home, if you're not spending time with friends, not reading, and don't have time to reflect, how will you bring the right inputs into making a decision?... John Carmack on the importance hard work: “For decades, I worked 60 hours a week” “I was never one of the programmers who would do all-nighters or work for 20 hours straight,” programming legend John Carmack begins when asked about his work routine. “My brain generally starts turning to mush after 12 hours or so. But hard work is really important, and for decades I would work 60 hours a week. I would work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week.” He continues: “I had a little thing in the back of my head where I was almost jealous of some of the programmers who would do these marathon sessions. Like Dave Taylor, one of the guys we had at id Software, would be one of those people who would fall asleep under his desk sometimes and all the classic hacker tropes about these things. Part of me was always a little bothered that wasn’t me. I wouldn’t program 20 hours straight because I’m falling apart and not being very effective after 12 hours . . . There are people who can work on 4 hours of sleep and continue to do good work, but there’s a lot of people who just fall apart. At about T-8 hours before Starship Flight 13’s third attempt to launch, what are the conditions out at the launch site? What does the weather look like? And, what is it like to be at the launch site and Starbase about 8 or so hours from a launch? Today I talk about all of this and provide some updates (narration & visuals) on the construction around the launch site too & why much of this is necessary. Oh, and a reminder too. If you have ever thought about coming out to Starbase and experience something you can literally not do anywhere else in the world (being at an active rocket launch site with a fully stacked rocket just hours before a launch all up close), then you need to plan on doing so sooner than later. These opportunities may not last forever, and indeed some restrictions continue to be added over time. Good luck to SpaceX and the Starship team … I hope Friday with the 13th launch is lucky indeed! 🚀🍀🤞 Ellie in Space 🚀💫

These two young entrepreneurs decided to start a power washing business, they were excited to stay working on this man’s house. They even threw in a few free services. A few hours into the service when they aren’t even done yet. They talk to the old man about the job, he starts to complain about the unsatisfactory job even though they have explained that they weren’t finished yet. Now he’s refusing to pay for the whole job, was the man being unreasonable at this point, or were the boys not doing a good job. Should they just pack it up and leave instead of hoping he likes the end result?

Scientists mapped a piece of brain the size of half a grain of rice. One-millionth the size of the human brain. It took them a year and over 1.4 million gigabytes to scan it. They found over 57,000 cells, 150 million synapses, and even some new structures they didn't know existed. Mapping the entire human brain in this level of detail would require all the data storage generated on Earth in a year + a 140-acre data center. But the human brain itself can hold up to ~2.5 million gigabytes of information - enough for ~3 million hours of HD video or 342 years of continuous viewing. It can process roughly 10 quadrillion calculations per second - enough processing power to run over 4,000 high-end gaming PCs all operating at peak ability. And it only runs on the amount of power needed for a single dim light bulb. No technology even comes close to doing what the brain can do. The more we learn about biology, the more complex it becomes. This is God's Glory on display.

This man has his American Bully dog at a park. The dog was sitting in a sit/stay training excercise. He’s had extensive training. He did have a leash on but his owner obviously didn’t have the leash in his hand, part of his continued training. As the owner walks back to him, a gentleman comes up and asks him to please put him on a leash and to hold the leash because there is a lot of distractions at the park. The owner replies “that is part of training.” The owner said “If I thought there was even a small chance he would harm a kid or react the wrong way, I wouldn't put him in that position. This isn't luck. This is hours and hours of real world training, consistency, and building him up around distractions the right way….. Breeds like American Bullies and similar dogs get judged before people even see them work, but this is what they're really about with the right leadership. Loyal, stable, and solid companions.” Some people said the gentleman who approached the owner was putting his own insecurities on a very well mannered dog. He had instant judgement. Others at the park complimented the owner on how well behaved his dog was. What a good boy that dog was. ❤️ Would you be upset if you were at the park with your child and saw this dog sitting there with his owner about 50 yards away? Do you think the owner was irresponsible? Do you think the gentleman had a right to be concerned and a right to remind the owner that there was a lot going on?

Trump was out in California talking about how we need more people working on this, we need to be raking the leaves… 57% of the land there is run by the Federal Government Firing these disease detectives when we have measles outbreaks, you could talk about that. The nuclear weapons workers that were fired and they had to be rehired because that was a mistake… or even that they’re firing air traffic controllers
